During detox I did not masturbate or really touch my dick at all. A useful website is yourbrainonporn.com it explains what I’m going to say really well.

I had a few minor slip ups before I really got serious in terms of my detox. I think you get the thought that if you’re not getting an erection and masturbating and orgasming every couple of days you are going to lose EQ (the old adage “use it or lose it” sums it up well). Let me tell you, for detox get your hand off your dick! NO MASTURBATION! If you want this to work don’t look at porn. Period.

You’re going to feel moments of horniness (I wouldn’t call them extreme) and maybe counter-intuitively you are going to feel moments where you are not horny at all. You’re dick will look and feel small and you will feel, well impotent. You may feel empty. This is the brain attempting to “re-wire”. Do NOT ‘test’ your dick by masturbating. You are fine, and you will be fine. Getting through these moments is where you feel a sense of clarity.

If you do ‘test’ yourself, get back on that horse. I know it took me 3 or 4 times to really get the hint. You may feel you want it now, but it’s when you’ve hit rock bottom (or somewhere near) that you will really want it. Forget about it and try again! Just remember the big strides happen when you do NOT touch masturbate and certainly not look at porn.

Find another hobby is absolutely the right thing to do. If you jump too quickly into PE you may get an injury.. I was wary when detoxing to not jelq because often jelqing lead to masturbating because they are similar and I am next to a computer - boom PORN. That’s bad. So I got rid of that trigger point (at least initially) and stopped jelqing. I am still very much alive (my dick is not bigger though).

I can only say what worked for me and that was getting my hand off my dick (including jelqing) worked. And over time the brain will re-wire and you will feel better.

When this starts to work you may feel a sense that you need to talk, communicate, and spend time with others! Do it! It makes you feel more complete. You’ll eventually feel energy to communicate that you probably don’t have now. It’s because right now all your sexual energy is depleted. When my sexual energy came back - boom I felt better and because of that I had the confidence (or need) to talk to girls. It will happen and it is great.

You have the knowledge, and your points were all correct. I want to give you every opportunity to succeed so I thought I would add my perspective that you may not have read.

I detoxed for 3 months and it was great, and what you said was the same story as me. I recently relapsed for some reason and watched some for about two weeks. Very stupid of me, but it was actually easy to quit again, and I feel I’m back to my peak detox level already.

I’m curious: it sounds like you’re of the camp that believes quitting masturbation all together is the way to go. Personally, I think masturbation is not harmful to sexual performance, as long as you take your time and do it slowly and it’s not to porn. But you believe it’s best to quit altogether?

I don’t think masturbating is an essential need for humans to live and I don’t buy it’s essential or healthy to masturbate for the benefit prostate cancer prevention. I’m sure people will disagree with me, that’s fine (I suppose I’ll run the Cancer gauntlet by not masturbating).

I think in terms of re-wiring the brain off porn that not masturbating would be the most beneficial (quickest) way to go.

I think other than that for the purposes of re-wiring that masturbating doesn’t hurt or is harmful in anyway. I just feel that is not necessary and affects my sexual desire and energy because I am fulfilling that need by myself. It certainly isn’t as rewarding as being with someone. So I choose not to masturbate and essentially ‘save’ up my sexual energy for that someone special.. (If I wasn’t with a girl I would be using that energy to find another partner).

If you feel that you need or want to masturbate, then do so. It’s not harmful nor is it necessarily helpful either - it just makes you feel good and I understand that!

Good advice here, +1 on the cialis (break it in half it’s the same) and a personal one, start lifting weights, not bodybuilding though, just lift heavy weights old skool style. It does ease the mind a lot, and makes you forget about anything else. You will also start to feel much more relaxed the whole time and in serious need of a nice girl to massage your hyuge hardened body, the rest will come by itself, I guarantee. For real

After madddogginit’s post with advise on detox and that site above, I think I have to agree with him on this one. I may be saying something different after my detox, but that website had a lot of science based data about masturbation and porn. It also stated that there is just not enough information data on masturbation’s link to prostate cancer to be conclusive.

Great advice on the weights thing! I don’t have time to start P90x back up, but definitely light lifting is good for the body and blood flow, which is important for PE. And every guy should learn to give a message! Trading massages is the easiest way to initiate sex I have found. I mean you are already half/ fully naked, rubbing and touching each other. Great stuff!

I feel like this is a great topic for the newbie forum, cause how many porn addicts come here looking to use PE as a way to get a stronger penis with partners, looking for treatment to a symptom when they need to cure the cause?

To start with! You might cause an injury jumping into weights like that. Whats wrong with P90x? It’s mostly pullups and push up. Can’t get more old school than that! I’ll be 25 at the end of spring.

I know, I was joking about bodyweight for a start, but I can’t recommend enough to start lifting weights the effective way, no BS around like bodybuilding etc who is mere looks, as opposed to building a strong, healthy body and reaping the benefits in everyday’s life for many years to come.

Search Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe, that’s the universally recognized start point for this. Or search Stronglifts web page, recommended also.

The detox time could vary. Generally, if you can make it past the three week mark of porn abstinence, you have a pretty good shot of being completely detoxed. This will mean that you are becoming re-sensitized (aka the simpler ways of turning you on will come roaring back) and you won’t need to flip from porn tube to porn tube to get aroused.

During my last swing at porn abstinence, I made it 6 weeks without looking at any and finally caved (which started a slow relapse phase). I’m happy to say that I’m back on the horse and trying to put it away for good.

Many of the other members are right- staying away from porn will help skyrocket your EQ, confidence around women, and your overall libido. So if you really put your mind to it- which I’m sure you’re set on doing- then you should be successful, my friend.

As for the “humiliating” situations you described, it happens to everyone dude. My first time with my fiance was a near disaster. This was about 8 years ago when we were in high school. I wanted to nail her so badly and it was all just so exciting. But BOOM.as soon as it was time to put the condom on, flimsy whimsy! It crushed me like it crushed you. After a few months of not even trying, we tried again and I made a point of being as relaxed as possible. And, she offered to slide the condom on following a quick blow job. I gotta say, it worked wonders! And the rest they say is history. FYI, she still usually puts the condom on me.it’s become a ritual of sorts. Best of luck, keep plugging away, stay off the porn!
