Penis Enlargement Skeptic?

I would say there is an element of a “do it yourself” factor to this too. By that I mean, it’s not like we are all in the same room and able each other to show proper technique in a hands on environment. Individually, we are limited by our own interpretations of how these exercises should be performed as well as limited by the constraints of the internet.

10 different guys could follow the same internet instructions on how to fix a leaky faucet, but their individual results could vary anywhere between a properly fixed faucet, to one covered in duct tape, to a faucet that has been ripped out and thrown against the wall… heck, one might even shut off the water and vow to never use that sink again! :)

Keep an open mind and a closed wallet... unless it\'s open to making a donation!

Validity of jelqing and other methods?

I’m a skeptic by nature and am not so inclined to believe these miraculous gains of 2+ inches when scientific studies have repeatedly concluded that none of these methods (barring surgery) works. Have people here posted pics of their gains? It’s hard enough to discern between what is and isn’t a gain, and what might just be variations in measurement (due to BPEL vs. NBPEL, weather, etc). With the internet people have a natural tendency to inflate their #’s I think

That said, would it be worth my time if I already have an above average member (I think)? Looking to appeal to size queens ;)

Link the scientific studies you are speaking of, thanks.

Welcome to Thunders teardrop,

If you are skeptical, then so be it, if you want a bigger dick then so be it, read a bit, try out the newbie routine and see what happens for you, if you wish to make your first post a troll for a challenge, then so be it, but as a skeptic what is your basis for being a skeptic. You haven’t tried anything so you don’t know and can’t discredit anybodies gains, with a bit of experience under your belt you might look back on that first post and say “Why did I write that?”

The choice is yours.

A well tailored suit is to women what lingerie is to men.

A well PE'd Penis gives girls the "Wow Eyes"

I :surf: therefore I am

I’ve heard some people having some not so good experiences with it, and I wouldn’t undergo that risk unless there’s solid proof these methods work

No I’m not trolling, calm down. I want to understand the science behind the method, but you’re going fascist on me for questioning it’s legitimacy and not blindly jumping in.

That link is sourced by the Mayo Clinic. Do you have a more reliable source that supports jelqing being a proven method of enlargement?

There isn’t any study in the link you provided. The link you provided is from wikipedia, not Mayo Clinic.

Yes you are and your reply kills all possible doubts about.

Well I know I’m wasting my time now because you’re evading my invitation for you to present any sort of evidence and resorting to ad hominem.

Wikipedia lists it’s sources at the BOTTOM of the page, but I’ll just link you straight to the Mayo Clinic:

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/penis/MC00026

And where are the studies there? Do Mayo Clinic is in anyway involved in penis enlargement surgery, by the way? You know, it seems actually that penis enlargement surgery is the real scam, no penis enhancement procedure is considered safe neither effective by any medical associations.

I have no evidence to present to you, I don’t care if you believe it works or not, but since you believe - withouth any rational proofs - that this can’t work, what are you doing here?

There have been no studies on jelqing, so there is no proof that it works. Likewise it has not been refuted because the work has not been done. It would be lovely if someone did the work but I fail to see where the money will come from to make that happen.

The only reasonable position for a sceptic is to await the evidence. So, it’s probably safe for you to ignore penis enlargement until such a time as the evidence is in.

I came here because I hadn’t decided if it works or not, I put the ball in your guys’s court to present some evidence. There is more proof at the moment that penis enhancement doesn’t work than does from my research.

Thank you for the reasonable post. I’m risk averse and like I said earlier already above average, so you’re probably right that it’s not worth it for me.

Really? Then you should read what you link to as proof:
Stretching.
Stretching consists of attaching a stretcher or extender device to the penis. These devices exert traction on the penis. A few small studies have reported increases of half an inch to almost an inch (about 1 to 2 cm) in length with these devices. However, the studies are not of high quality and more rigorous research is needed before this technique can be considered safe and effective.”

Penis pumps

Using a penis pump may help you regain erectile function after certain procedures. For example, using a penis pump may help restore your ability to get a natural erection after prostate surgery or radiation therapy for prostate cancer.

Penis pumps may counter sexual effects of certain health conditions. In some men with an underlying health problem, such as diabetes, a penis pump may help regain or maintain normal sexual function. If you have Peyronie’s disease, a disorder that causes bent erections, using a penis pump may help you maintain the length and girth of your penis.”
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/pe…ON=why-its-done

So, according to the source that you linked : a) there are no scientific proofs that PE doesn’t work; b) there are some scientific studies that prove that PE does indeed works, although the proofs can’t be considered definitive.

Goodbye, dude.

That’s a traction device that you’re supposed to wear 6 hours a day, not the same as jelqing at all. That’s an insane commitment. And it says right there that the studies were hardly reliable.

If you don’t believe the sources I’m posting, why then are you trying to use them against me. Nothing you posted has refuted anything I’ve said by the way.

Probably best to leave it then. The risks are small but they are real, just like the risks involved in leaving the house every day (or staying at home).

The precautionary principle suggests that it’s best to minimise risk, however small, where techniques do not have scientific consensus for efficacy.

Also, in the end, getting a bigger dick is nice but optional and though it can have concommitent advantages in an improved sex life and greater confidence these can mostly be achieved through other means.
