Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way of effectively taking good measurements without the tendency of parallax error. I do think that taking a picture can give a more accurate reading as the photo is from the top down rather from the angle created between the eyes and penis. I have always been more of a fan for rulers as I have never been able to get consistent tension using tapes and strings. Look forward to hearing your experiences. Thanks!
Chris, The parallax difference between your eyes and a camera should not be that significant unless you have an extremely short torso :( or an very long dick. :)
I don’t think it makes that much difference as long as you are consistent with how you are measuring. I agree with the ruler comment, especially for length. I use a sewing tape for girth measurements.

I don’t think there is any other “true” measure of/for girth, than with a measuring tape. Wrapping a string around your unit, and then laying it down on a ruler can be misleading, as you can stretch the string, and the location where you mark the spot on the string can be “fudged”.
Also, make sure that the measuring tape is accurate against a ruler. I have a measuring tape that in nearly .15 inches SHORT. (a pleasant surprise)

So i guess the tape is trump of all forms of measurement then? If so, do you guys find that you can get a good bone pressed measure with the tape? Unlike a ruler, it has no firm point to prod the fat pad in, unless perhaps the industrial metal measuring tapes. In addition, there is the inconsistency with measuring nbpel with a tape as the starting point is almost certainly variable with every measurement.

I use a hard ruler to measure length (end pressed against the pubic bone) and a tape to measure girth.

No, not in my opinion. A tape measure is the most accurate measure for GIRTH. For erect length, a bone pressed measurement, with a firm ruler, is the only way to go. I agree with you that the whole Non-Bone Pressed measurement is arbitrary, and can change every time you measure.

Perhaps I might be having a problem because of my downward curve. Because of the gap between the tip of the glans and the ruler, it exacerbates the parallax error. Do you think I should use a flexible ruler? I find that when I try to straighten my penis to match a straight ruler, I lose a bit of erection.

If we are talking about .05 of on inch, than I’m not concerned. :)

If you want accurate measurements, you need the right tools. Tape measure for girth, and ruler for length.

Well from what I tried, I’ve had deviations of about a quarter an inch of photographed ruler measurements by simply moving the camera placement an inch or two.
