Pain killers and L-Aginine

I had an operation last Friday and have not been taking my supplements for over a week now. The doc put me on oxycodone for pain every 4 hours. I was just wondering if anyone had already run into this situation? Would it be safe to start back on my supplements? I was taking L-Arginine, L-Lysine, Tribulus and Damiana as supplements. I’ve also been taking a Hi Potency B Complex, Zinc and a Multi-Vitamin. Should I just call a pharmacist and ask them or does anyone have any suggestions?

I don’t think the amino acids or the vitamins and zinc should be any problem. I don’t know about the Tribulus and Damiana.

I agree with gprent. I know l-arginine and Ttribulus improve blood flow so would hold off on them for at least a week or until you have healed properly.

I had minor surgery recently. I didn’t take any supplements until two weeks after. Omega3 fish oil and vitamin e act as blood thinners, L-Arginine expands the blood vessels. Best to stay off of them for a few weeks just to be safe

Oxycodone is known in Australia is a hard drug or opiate for strong pain, all depends what strength your doc has given you but it may have the effect of negating the effects of vitamins and supplements. It is best to wait until you fully recover self healing process of your immune systems then take supplements
