Yes. As with any stretching the area really has to be ‘warmed’ first to reduce the risk of injury and aid productive stretching. And I start with gentle 5-10 second stretches to start with before moving on to 20+ second stretches. Just imagine the ‘cold’ elastic band and the ‘warm’ elastic band analogy.
