We had a theory along with some anecdotal evidence floating around the forums at one time that Vit. C was actually detrimental to PE gains. That was a while back, any of the old timers remember it?

Much like anything else on this forum, that is debatable. Some people will say that getting extra C is good for your growth potential, others say no it isn’t. I think everyone has to make up his own mind on this subject. Ru, I remember that thread, I just can’t remember who wrote it, its been a couple of years ago.

And while C is a water soluble vitamin, too much (as in massive doses) isn’t good for the body period. I like it to help ward off colds in the winter time.

I remember it. Don’t know where it is, but I remember it. :)

I think it can’t hurt. I take around 300 mg each day.


Started: BPEL: 13 cm / EG: 10.5 cm // 27-06-07

Running a Massive Co-Front.

Collagen becomes stiff and unpliable due to disulfide bond formation - a natural effect of aging. But, you can speed it up by smoking, eating lots of crappy foods, and avoiding foods rich in reductants (antioxidants). Since ascorbic acid (vitamin C) is a reductant, it will assist in keeping your collagen youngish and healthy, including keeping it amenable to being stretched.

Advice for hard gainers (and anyone who wants to slow down their impending decay): lay off of the alcohol, cigarettes, grilled/fried foods, nitrate-suffused meats, and adopt a diet rich in raw and lightly cooked fresh fruits and vegetables. And, drink your orange juice.
