Numbness.scared.

Okay, I’m kind of new but I’m really frightened my penis seems like it has less sensitivity now. I think so anyway, it just doesn’t feel normal when I touch it. I might be freaking out over nothing but this didn’t happen until I started doing dry jelqing? Is that like a high risk exercise? I’m freaking out, b/c I can’t afford to go to the doctor right now and find out! I mean I can still get an erection and I can feel myself just fine, it’s just that I have less sensitivity, and I can’t really explain if it’s numbness or not! I don’t know what that feels like, and if it is will the nerves grow back? I mean I have an idea maybe like when your foot goes to sleep or something but it doesn’t feel like that! Plus, how hard do you have to jelq to cause nerve damage anyway?

Here’s my routine:
10-15 min stretch
100 dry jelqs
10-20 min wet jelq
Sometimes I use a warm wrap. Not all the time!!
I don’t know why I put this up here, just let me know if anything is wrong with my routine.
Also, I do 2 days on one day off for my routine!

SOMEONE HELP!! PLEASE!

Hey Naked, if you are kind of “new” here this to me sounds like a heavy programme, why not take a day or two off and let your penis recover, could be overwork IMHO.

Warm up all the time. Give yourself a break for a few days. Which is more comfortable wet jelq or dry jelq? Choose just one for now and stick with it. You overworked it a bit. A short decon break for a few days may bring back the feeling again.

1: Use a lite grip when jelqing.
2: If it hurts you over did it.

When you return to E in ab out a week providing you sense improvement in feeling stat out with half the number of jelqs.

Speak softly carry a big dick, I'm mean stick!

Kingpole, use the spell check please :)

Be nice to your penis, it’s probably the only one you will ever have.

Seriously though—I’m brand new also, just starting.. And the advice I’ve seen again & again is to just take it slow at first. Especially early on as you get a feel for your limitations I think it would be VERY wise to not push things too hard.. I would rather have a little slower gains & avoid irreversible damage.

I’m not a doctor, but I can say with confidence that you can fully recover from minor nerve damage.

For example, I had a major surgery on an ankle— and for a while parts of my ankle were a bit numb/ but basically most of the dead nerves grew back. I think it’s just major nerves (e.g. Your spine!) that really can’t recover.

I haven’t seen it mentioned on this forum, but as a former division 1 college athlete I would think icing your penis 20 minutes on/ 20 minutes off, during a few off days would lead to a much faster recovery. Something else, with injuries in general, immediately icing after an incident would really prevent most of the damage (or in other words, many injuries seemed to be almost twice as bad if they were not iced within a few hours of the incident).

I’m not saying it’s ok to have an injury, I think I’m just saying, normally icing right after something goes wrong makes a massive difference. I think common sense would dictate to me that it would be exactly the same for my penis—since this is completely true for pretty much any other body part.

I’m taking a few days off. I don’t have any ice or anything, can I use a really cold rag?

I agree with kingpole.

Warm up for at least 7 minutes, and rather than jelqing for 10 minutes straight only do 50-100 wet jelqs (count them).

Adios.

:monty: Don\'t forget your KEGELS! :monty:

I think your best bet is to just lay off and rest your penis. I’m not sure that icing it will be good . Your own suggestion of cold water /rag is better, as Ice might cause burns.

And as been suggested. Take it easy on your dick. You can start more heavy stuff when you have conditioned it more - at least two months.

Psst! The link is at the bottom of the page :bigwink:

As long as you don’t put ice directly on the skin for over 20 minutes you really can’t do damage.. (Supposedly over 20 minutes you can do nerve damage if it’s really too cold)

To make sure it’s not directly on your skin you can use ice inside plastic bag then inside a sock/or some type of cloth

If I was really concerned I just wouldn’t ice it as long (e.g. 10 minutes instead of 20)

Anyway, if I felt like I wasn’t recovering fast enough, I personally would consider ice—but then again, maybe I’m crazy.. After working out in college athletics I would sometimes sit in a basin which I would basically fill with ice-water. Then I would go in neck deep—for 10 or 15 minutes. Generally, I found recovery time was cut in half with this kind of stuff.

It reminds me of jumping in the ocean in California without a wetsuit—It was so cold I thought my balls were going to go back up inside me (I have actually heard this can really happen)

then: 6" BPEL, 4.88" MSEG

now: 7.3" BPEL, 5.4" MSEG

Anyway, for most injuries after 48 hours you can also use heat to speed up recovery as well (like the rice-sock/ or other warm up stuff)—I’m not sure why you’re not supposed to use heat before the 48 hour mark. I assume it has something to do with swelling or internal bleeding (.e.g if something were bruised, perhaps early heat makes it worse/ not sure if there are other reasons).

I wonder if you can find a posts where others had a similar type of injury and see what they did to recover.

I admit I’ve never had a real penis injury, and like I was saying before, those things I recommended are basically what college or Olympic athletes do in the case of most injuries.

I think there’s nothing to worry about. You are fine.

I think you should quit the dry jelqs. Do the newbie routine.

And always, always, always warm up before and after the exercise for at least 5 min.

Give yourself a couple of days rest and start again.

Good luck!

PE isn't a chore. PE is a lifestyle.

If you feel down sometimes, come live inside my mind. I promise you'll enjoy the experience.

Okay! Well I’m feeling better, and I’m not going to start PE again until maybe next week sometime. Also I kind of freaked out a little. Can I still post? B/C I like to? Lol Thanks guys!! ^_^ Also now I know what I did wrong, even though I just became a member I’ve been doing PE since January and this is the first accident which is good. The thing was that I watched the videos and all that, and the guy looked like he was basically squeezing the crap out of his junk when he was jelqing. So then I kind of went and did that, and that’s what happend!! You have no idea of how scared I was!! But I’ve gotten better!! Thanks guys!

My numbness is gone

Well I’m feeling really relieved!! I’m back to normal, yay!! Now the only thing left to do is to decide when I’ll start back to doing PE!

I was thinking maybe tomorrow, but I thought that might be too soon. I don’t know, lol I’m going to take it slow guys!

Glad you are feeling better.

Also glad that you have come out of the whole experience with a bit of earned wisdom. I am always amazed at how many guys we have that take a minor injury and insist on turning it into something worse by not taking the time to heal properly.
