Numbness After Sitting

I haven’t had this happen before today. I was sitting down on the couch for about half an hour and felt a prickly numbness on my unit after standing up. The sensation was actually quite painful and lasted for a few minutes. I almost hopped in the hot shower to see if putting warmth on my unit would help (the shower takes too long to get hot, however). I suppose that somehow the way I was sitting constricted the blood flow without realizing it.

I am slightly concerned about this because I just restarted PE two days ago. I have been on hiatus for years now and probably am not fully ready to get back to what I was doing in the past. I am definitely going to tone it down a little bit to make sure that I’m not causing nerve damage of some sort.

Has anyone else had this sensation? If so, what were you doing right before the sensation? Is this at all common?

I’ve had that sensation after sitting on a bicycle seat for a while. It’s probably not blood flow, but a compression of the perineal nerves. It’s temporary and not related to your PE exercises.

Riding a bike for 30 minutes or more without stopping causes hell in my crotch, it gets numb and feels like I’m 90% turtled, even though I’m not. Upon touching I literally can’t tell (based on feeling down there) if I’m touching the penis or balls. That’s why I never ride bike as cardio workout.

Thanks westla. I think you’re probably right. It’s comforting to have a good idea that there isn’t any nerve damage due to resuming PE.

Well, it’s pretty safe to say that I’m not going to be exercising using a bike. That’s pretty scary stuff in my book. It just cannot be good to repeatedly have those symptoms.
