I am sorry to hear that you are not gaining. However I too think that it is best to stick to the manual exercises first before graduating to the next level.
Good on you for employing the warm up, stretches, but throwing in some wet jelqs in there. In the earlier days I would jelq for 30 min and I definitely noted its benefits. Some of my impressive gains were based on the newbie routine. Even today there are seasons when I pack all my fancy PE gear and go back to my adjusted newbie routine.
