Noob with a question.

Hello every one! I am new here and had a question about abbreviations, I see them all over the place and don’t totally know all of them. If someone could be so kind as to post the ones you know that would be awsome.

PE Abbreviations Glossary

Here’s a tip: If you hover your mouse pointer above some of the abbreviations, in particular those with a light dotted underline, a little pop up message will appear and show the meaning of it.

Please note that some of the abbreviations are variations of the terms listed in the glossary or underlined, as always context is important.

A good observation!

I did just come across an example of an abbreviation, “PM”, where the author had clearly intended that as an abbreviation of “PeniMaster”. Hovering the mouse pointer above this abbreviation gives the explanatory pop-up text “Private Message”, which was not what the author intended and in no way fit the context of his post.

I guess if the meaning of the abbreviation is not clear, you can try the hovering mouse tip, but it can’t always be relied upon. But then you would also not be able to rely upon the PE Abbreviations Glossary either, as in this example. You must obviously read the post for context!

In the end, if still unclear, it may be necessary to ask the poster what they had meant.
