Your brain needs to reset man. All those years hard wired your brain and it needs time to desensitize itself (including soft-core). My suggestion is the fastest way to recover is to just quit cold-turkey, though, my journey I have done the 1 week no pmo (then fapped), 2 week no pmo (fapped), 3 weeks no pmo then fapped progressive approach… until you just get rid of it completely after that. It takes a much longer time to recover but I do find it easier than cold turkey. The first 3-4 days are the hardest, relapse usually occurs on day 7 and around the 2 week mark. Then mid 2-3 week mark give or take. Of course your stimulation to porn in the past is very different than of mine. So you can use these estimates to judge for yourself. Good luck. I agree. I was planning on doing this after this semester is over. I was just worried I’d go into WD and become useless. Biochemically, fapping makes me more normal. What happens exactly when you stop completely?

Hmm let’s see. Better sex drive. Erections whenever you want (as applicable). Less social anxiety. Confidence. Let’s just say the pro’s outweigh the cons. Wawawuh, you are absolutely correct. I experience the exact same issues of irritability and desires. My spouse thinks that I am going through bouts of depression, but I know that pmo is the cause of the depression symptoms. Until we kick the habit, it will happen over and over. I have gone six days now without pmo and I am at the end of my rope and there isn’t a knot and not enough rope to tie one! The worst part is even the soft core that is on TV is causing arousal. For those who are really serious about kicking the porn habit, there are software solutions available to assist with tracking and accountability. Honestly, the best thing I have done in the past was to find a friend that had the same issue and holding each other accountable (I.e., calling at least once a week at odd times of the day to check in - like over the lunch hour, etc.).

It is a long row to hoe, but it can be done.

And yes, in my personal experience when i don’t watch porn for a while the sex drive increases, more women look hotter, maybe this is also because i try to not masturbate in the periods i don’t watch porn.

I hear ya man. I went from not being able to reach orgasm to having to work hard to not reach orgasm too soon. I do feel so much more attraction to my girl though and I love that and she digs it too. All she has to do is walk in my door and I’m ready! I think she was beginning to wonder if she didn’t do it for me because I would take so long, and sometimes never reach orgasm. Unless I’m very much mistaking, what you and Hassuna are describing is called edging. According to experienced PEers, it helps with pre-mature ejaculation and just in general helps you last longer in bed. I guess it is definitely true for me.
