Newbie jelq-only routine

I’m new to PE and very excited. An old friend of mine has been practising it for a number of years now, and in fact told me about it three, maybe five years ago. To begin with, I was dismissive and a little contemptuous, and forgot about it. However, the long and winding path of my life has led me back, and here I am.
I began jelqing two or three weeks ago. Apart from a small injury which freaked me out, and after which I took three days off, I have been doing a five days on, two days off routine, and though naturally there are no permanent gains to speak of yet, I am very happy with the “all-day hang” improvement, and am motivated to continue.
What I wanted to ask was this: what do you think of a jelq-only routine for the first few months? Like I said, I am motivated, but I am still getting a handle on this, and don’t want to get into anything complicated, or take on more than I can handle.
It seems to me that jelqing is the most fundamental PE exercise, and it feels to me like it is exercising my “unit” in this basic way should lead to gains in the medium term.
Do you think I will indeed get noticeable gains by consistently doing jelqing by itself? Assuming, of course, that I do it properly?
