Newbie - erratic performance - ED and/or PE

I’m not sure what’s wrong with me, but somethings not right.I’m hoping that you can help?

Here’s my story..

I’m 57 years old and I’ve definitely seen better days.

As a younger man my girl-friends and wife all used to compliment me that I was supremely well endowed and able to maintain an erection naturally perform to satisfy myself & partner. I think I only bothered to actually measure my member once and it was definitely over 7.5 inches. Several women used to say they really enjoyed how “big and wide” it was and how they could really “feel” me.

I’ve been disappointed and shocked to notice that over recent years that my both my flaccid and erect penis size has literally “shrunk”. I doubt I can get a 5-6 inch woody today my member looks like a little boy’s tool. I definitely don’t have the Eq. That I used to have!

Today, my erections are eratic very often unable to perform reliably “on demand”m even with a lot of manual and oral help from my G/F.

However I often wake up with an erection, and can sometimes “perform” quite well upon waking up.

I’ve tried Viagra, Levitra, and Cialis, and they all worked fine. Other than Cialis giving me headaches, the “pills” seem to be a viable temporary “work-around” so I’m hoping that whatever my issue is, it’s not permanent damage and is “fixable” with exercise, diet, etc..

My girlfriend is an RN and is quite willing and able to help me with the exercises, provided I can come up with an “exercise plan” that we can work on together. Do you have any suggestions for how girlfriends can “help”? And what they can do?

I’ve also investigated hypnosis and EFT for helping with the psychological and emotional issues? Does that help? Can anyone suggest any ED forums that are as good as this forum?

I could definitely be in better shape. I used to run/walk 3-6 miles everyday, but last winter I started slacking off when I caught walking pneumonia and haven’t got back into it. I’m sure that would help..

I’m in fairly good shape for my age.. Could be better.I don’t drink, smoke, do drugs, or eat crappy food.. I’ve been on a Paleo/Aktins type low carb diet for years..

I’ve been looking at the Newbie section material with vivid interest.I’m definitely starting “the PE program”!

Any answers to my other questions?

Are there any ED forums as good as this forum?

What can my G/F do to help?

I would suggest trying to get a little more exercise and starting the newbie routine. Give that a couple of weeks, at least, and see where you are at.

You and your girlfriend are going to have to figure out how she can help.

There are some really good ED forums around. Give PE a try before going down the permanent ED route would be my suggestion.

Steven Lamm, MD has a book out called "The Hardness Factor". Among other things he links erection strength to overall fitness. It is a pretty good book, he has a program of exercises and supplements.

Your post reminds me when I started PEing back in 2002 being 69 years of age.

Yesterday I did at least 10 reps of 5 X 5 second Kegels and I tried several at least 25+ 15 second Kegels while I was driving in the car. I tried heating my cock the jelqing exercises and heating it up afterwards. I was a little clumsy and but I guess it will get better with more practice.

Anyway last night at my G/F’s apt. Was pretty much like it’s been.. Se was totally in the mood.. And tried to stimulate me orally and manually. No go. So I concentrated on pleasing her. She feels guilty that my ED is her fault and that she’s not sexy enough for me and that I’ve lost interest in her (she’s a seriously good looking HB 8; she was definitely a 9.5 when she was younger but she’s still drop dead gorgeous today.).

I’m still waiting for my next shipment of Viagra to arrive, so I basically settled in on pleasing her and getting her to have a good orgasm orally and manually..

I told her about PE and that I’m going to try it, and then I mentioned that maybe she could help out. I showed her some of the exercises.

This morning I woke up with really nice erection, but it was too late we had to get up and go to work.. Usually if it was her day off or Sunday we would have taken advantage of my erection had sex right then and there.

I really look forward to when I can have more reliable and predictable erections and results

Maybe this is one of your problems. How does that diet work? Do you get ANY carbs at all?

Everyone’s body is different. Some people NEED carbs to function, others need very little (30 or less). I’m on a high fat/high protein diet, but I get carbs in the morning and after my workouts.

Paleo\Atkins is a low carb high fat/protein diet no more than 30 net grams of carb per day. Paleo means no manufactured, or farm “grown” foods.. I.e the idea is to approximate as much as possible, a “hunter gatherer’s” diet of 10,000 years ago. The concept is that the body hasn’t evolved enough to handle the toxic effects caused by all these types of farmed and manufactured foods that are prevalent today, hence obesity and diabetes, and all these different cancers, etc.

Well we are drifting a bit off topic, but I have lost a fair amount of fat recently while holding on to muscle. I have diabetes as well and it is controlled by diet and exercise alone.

I am carb sensitive, but I took a different approach. Green Vegetables at Every Meal. I kept my non green vegetable carbs to 50 to 80g, green vegetables did not count. Essentially the starchy carbs were the problem for me. Green vegs kept every thing flowing if you know what I mean and I think also helped remove toxins from my body.

However, whatever works for you. Maybe you do that anyway as part of the hunter gatherer thing.

As to the ED thing it seems like maybe you are tying yourself up psychologically.

You mention her stimulating you manually and orally and no go. Sometimes if I think to hard about it, "will I get a hard on", my body won’t cooperate. Or sometimes I get so worried along the lines of "Is she having a good time?"

Just try to turn your mind off and focus on sensation. Let go of the worries and resistances.

Additionally kingpole recommended I supplement with the following supps for erection strength:

— 240mg gingko biloba per day
— 3g of AAKG twice a day

Seems to be working pretty well for me. I am in my fifties too.

Yes type II diabetes can be reversed via a no/low carb diet..
