Hi everyone, I am a newbie and I’m doing a routine that I made up. I’m mainly looking for girth, but minimal length. The routine that I’m doing starts with 12 minutes of jelqing everyday (60-90% erect), and increasing by 1 minute everyweek. So far I have been doing this for 2 and a half weeks and I take a day off at least once a week, whenever I’m seeing negative PIs, but rather than that I’m jelqing everyday.
Do you believe that this is a good routine?
Also, is everyday too much? Should I do 2 days on and 1 day off instead?

Are you using heat? That’s my first big question.

Are you focussing on making every jelq count? - i.e. quality not quantity. 12 minutes of high quality jelqs is a lot to start with; 12 minutes of low quality jelqs isn’t.

You do need rest time to allow growth to take place. No one can tell you whether you are doing too much or too little or whether you need more rest without owning your penis and knowing how it feels after a session. 2 on 1 off is a good balance. 3 on 1 off is OK if you are still getting good PIs.

90% erection for a newbie is generally considered too much.


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

I don t know about routine but only thing I know is that you should probably do 2 on 1 off first 2-3 months (newbie routine I guess).

I am doing 2 on 1 off and its barely my first month on jelquing exercise. After you reach 2-3 months then you should put more instensity to your routine and switch from 2 on 1 off to 5on 2 off.

Yes I’m putting hot water on my penis for 5 minutes before and after my session.

Yes, I take 5-10 seconds per jelq, I go very slow with a very light grip.

The problem is my penis goes soft after 8-10 jelqs so I have to keep restarting to stimulate myself.

Does stopping to restimulate myself have an effect on gains?

And ok I will do 2 days on 1 day off.

Does 1 minute extra a week sound good? I want to stick to the routine for 3 months to see if I gain.

Follow it as exactly as you can and don’t over think this. I really just takes time and effort if you stick with the newbie routine there is not much you can mess up.

5 minutes may or may not be enough time, depending on how hot the water is. I would recommend a microwaveable gel pack over some t shirt or tea towel material.

You need to focus on the feel of the pressure building up in front of your jelqing hand, and how that is stretching the tissues. 10 seconds with a very light grip is likely to be letting all the pressure escape.

Stopping to re-stimulate is not a problem - try to work between 40 and 75% erection, re-stimulating when you get down towards 40/50% erection. As you get more used to jelqing you should be able to maintain an appropriate erection level more easily. Use your ‘sexual imagination’ as needed!

Adding a minute a week is fine, but ultimately you need to learn to go by feel. If you are truly concentrating on what you feel as you jelq, you’ll find that some days your penis will feel well ‘worked’ with less jelqs, and other days it will need more. Adding a minute but getting bored with the jelqing and slipping into sloppy technique is a waste of time. It can take many months to perfect your technique; think of the first 3 months as a learning curve, and don’t worry too much about your gains.

Patience is a virtue. In terms of ThundersPlace, this is a forum not a chat site. In terms of PE, there is a process to finding your zone. You are newbie so conditioning without hurting yourself is the most important thing. The newbie routine has been handed down for a long period of time because it generally works better than only jelqing or stretching or anything else.

Explain your warming process as there is a difference between heat and temperature, especially with water. You need enough heat to warm your penis all the way through, not just warm water on the skin. A rice sock (or suitable gel pack) will probably provide better heat than water unless you are sitting in a hot bath.

Are you using lube to wet jelq or are you dry jelqing? I very much prefer wet jelqs.

The fact that you are losing your partial erection indicates that you are using too much pressure. Less is more as a newbie. Seriously. You should only use enough pressure that you can see/feel the swelling go up your penis but not so much that you negatively impact your partial erection.

I know some advocate slower jelqs but I don’t know how a beginner can do a 10 second jelq unless you have a 2 foot long penis. Focus on the steady expansion of the penis and don’t worry if it only takes 2-3 seconds. Make sure the next hand is ready to keep the blood in and the penis swollen.

Once you find the right pressure and tempo, your penis should feel like it had a good workout when you’re done, perhaps with some modest fatigue. If anything you should leave your penis wanting more and slowly increase your reps. Your EQ should skyrocket during this period. If your penis is not 100% ready the next day, then take a rest day or two until it feels 100% ready.

What does that mean?

The slower I jelq the more of a chance I’ll lose my erection. But too fast and it feels like I’m going to ejaculate. I’d say 3-5 seconds jelqs, while focusing on feeling the expansion, is perfect for me. It’s ok to stimulate your erection back to ideal amounts during your session and shouldn’t affect your gains. In other words I agree with what jd100 is saying and is good advice.

That would most likely be much too heat. However, in the past I have used a cup of hot water, dipped a wash cloth in it and applied it to my dong, then after the water wasn’t too hot I’d stick my penis in the cup to finish my warm up.
