Nair on balls

For the last few months I’ve used Nair to keep my balls hair free. Last night I did my same routine and may have left the Nair on a bit long. Now on a small area I have a chemical burn. It hurts like hell. Any ideas on how to alleviate some pain and speed up healing?

Also I got my “mini vagina” in the mail a few days ago. It’s great for edging!! Way better than my hands (which have calluses on them from lifting weights)

I know neosporin usually helps for stuff like that.

I did the same thing. Get some cortizone 10 cream and the pain will be gone by tomorrow

Wow, ouch ouch ouch! I would never put Nair or any hair removing chemical anywhere near my jewels.

Veet will do the same for you if you don’t follow the recommended max time. Hurts for days.

Maybe aloe vera will cool it? I’d try some after-sun lotion.

Oh gawd the chemicals those products have in them are NASTY. Not worth the clean hair removal IMO. This burn should be testament to that.

If you can take aspirin, that might also be useful for its anti-inflammatory effect (in addition to its analgesic benefits!).

I don’t know what those chemicals are, except that they seem to work by shocking the hairs to let go :) Care to explain more about why and why not to use Nair/Veet etc?

The alternative is to just rip them out or to shave - and the latter is uncomfortable and leaves wretched stubble. Any other ideas?

Tweaking is right. I thought most depilatory creams have warning not to use on sensitive skin areas b/c of the chemicals they contain (and as you’ve experienced, the possibility of chemical burns. The fact that they can cause chemical burns at all is a red flag. If they don’t then I strongly advise you not to use that stuff anywhere that has to do with procreation. Just do it the hard way. You have no idea what you may or may not be doing to yourself. Yea it’s a little chicken little-ish. But better safe than sorry.

Anyways, in addition to the ointments previously mentioned. I’d go with Cortisone 10 as well - will act as a disinfectant and keep the area from drying out.
