Measuring girth

A string is the official way of measuring girth? You’ve checked up on that? I always see pics in the members pictures forum of guys measuring with those measuring tape things. I guess they’re all bigger than they think.

I’ve measured with a string and measuring tape and I get the exact same measurement.

I use a metal ruler for EL measurements and a ‘floppy’ tape measure for girth. But the ruler measures long and the tape short. I guess the rule will be more accurate. How do I check? (by the way, the tape measure doesn’t appear puckered) There is between a 1/16 and 1/8 difference.

So I have either got a shorter and fatter or a longer and thinner penis than I thought :p

Remember too that when you use a tape measure which is, say, 1/3 to 1/2” wide it will distort if wrapped flush around a tapering object. For example, if your dick gets thicker from top to bottom and you wrap a tape measure around it so the edges are parallel when they meet (meaning the tape measure hasn’t been prevented from making an accurate measurement due to being flush to a slightly conical rather than perfectly cylindrical shape) the measurement will be for the thickest part.

Other variations could be due to skin compression (from swelling or just from the measuring device digging in), tension on the measuring device (string stretches), etc.

Yeah massappeal. You got some nice valid points there. Guess the most important of all is consistency when measuring. I think the ideal would be a tape measure cut length-ways, 1/4 inch wide :)

My dick (unfortunately) doesn’t have such a degree of tapering for it to be an issue when measuring. My 3/4 inch one is fine. (the last sentence, in isolation, sounds unflattering doesn’t it)
