So my question is, if you guys measure yourselves from the SIDE of the penis BP is it the same as over the top?

I ask because for me it’s a difference of AN INCH.

I’m a really heavy guy, 300 pounds, and my ligs are ridiculously tight, I point up at like 11 o’clock, and when I try to BP the measurement over the top of my penis it actually hurts to jab in the ruler all the way in and I causes my penis to point up even more.
But when today I did it on the side, BP as well, I found that 1) it didnt hurt 2) I could keep my penis straight out instead of having to try to measure at an angle and 3) there was an INCH of difference.

So what do ya’ll think? Had anybody tried measuring from the side like this? Is it accurate?

Well, the main reason to measure is to keep track. So as long as you’re consistent, that’s fine. But no, from the side is not a true BPEL measurement. I think almost everybody gets a bigger, better measurement from the side. Makes me over 8 inches.

2005 - BPEL 6.0"x MSEG 4.5" (BEG 4.75"/HEG 4.625")

2010 - BPEL 8.0"x MSEG 5.75" (BEG 6.5"/HEG 5.875")

Goal - BPEL 9.0"x MSEG 6.5" (BEG 6.5"/HEG 6.75")

I just saw a post that showd a guy doing it still over the top but to the side of the top and people say what you said, that it has to be pretty much touching the penis so as to not distort, as measuring over the top but off to the left or right makes room for the ruler not being completely stretched.

What I’m talking though is literally from the side, the left or right part of the penis, witht he ruler still touching the penis, if you saw a picture from a side view, you be able to see the numbers on the measuring tape.

I wouldn’t measure from the side, I feel like I would be just lying to myself, today I measured lying down, sitting down and standing up, I got half an inch more while sitting down and about a quarter of an inch more when lying down, all these were NBPEL, now what theskyisthelimit says is true, as long as you are consistent you’re good. For my PE statics I always measure standing up on an erect penis and pointing up front, without arching my back, as this could give me another quarter of an inch or so.

I think you have to use String/thread to measure the length it will gave most accurate measure in place of scale

Method of measuring must be the same every time you measure, that’s the key of being accurate. Best method is standing with erect penis perpendicular to your body (parallel to the floor) and with the ruler above it, bone pressed.

Start • 5.94''x4.92''

Now • 6.50''x4.96''

Goal • 7.00''x5.75''

Here is how I measure BPEL.

Measure from the top. Press the ruler into your pubic bone. Hold the ruler so the measureing edge is lined your piss slit.) (that is, half of your penis is hidden by the ruler) Straighten your curves if you need to. Don’t thrust your hips out

However the most important thing, as thenOObnOOb just said, is CONSISTENCY. Try to measure the same way everytime. You are trying to track your gains.

I did what you said ( had to ask the girlfriend for help, I couldn’t do it alone) and I found out why for me, the side is a better way of measuring.
I have a really large fat pad, but it’s mostly on the top part of my pelvis. The sides are not as fatty. So if I put the ruler too high, I can’t BP it all the way because of the fat, but if I try to line it up directly on my penis, it hurts like a mofo because I hit the ligs when I try to BP it. But I sucked it up and BP’ed on the ligs while my gf kept my unit from pointing straight up and it got the same length as from the side, 6’ on the dot..

Basically I got a couple of good things from this.
1) the girlfriend is totally for this and is gonna help me reach my goal of 7. This is very good now I don’t have to hide to exercise lol
2) again I come to the conclusion that my ligs are RIDICULOUSLY tight.. (Which is kind of good right? That means I’m probably getting a quick gain from stretching them correct?)
3) PE really does work. Not that I ever really doubted it.. But having personally seen it work just makes it really hit home a LOT better (I remember measuring at the beginning of november and it being a mm below six)

Just wondering — is there a protocol for measuring NBPFL? More to the point, do you measure to the end of the glans or to the end of the foreskin. It would seem to me that uncurcumcised or restored guys have an advantage here, especially those with a long foreskin — an unfair one at that. I reckon NBPFL should only be to the end of the glans, which means that I have to knock nearly half an inch off that shown in my signature.

What do others think?

Also, just ot make a passing observation — I’ve never really looked before. I notice that some guys in my gym change room have very short foreskin to the extent that they almost look cut. These guys would have no advantage when doing a NBPFL. Others have extremely long foreskins. Again, I notice at, some guys still have very good coverage even when erect.
