Measurement Day Woes: How To

Measurement Day Woes: How To

Hello everyone, I’m here again with some questions after “graduating” from the newbie routine -first six months of PE- , with visible and palpable gains. SO! As I understand, the common way to measure is standing up, while erect, and measure around mid shaft for EG, from base to tip for NBPEL and pressing down on the fat pad into the bone for BPEL. So I do this, and jot down my results in my personal progress log, and then I realize the site has a progress feature where I can input my data! So I go ahead and read how to properly input my stats, and I read that:
A) Measurements should be taken after a 2 day hiatus from PE
B) Measurements should be taken lying down, pressing down into the bone
Both pieces of information were completely new to me, so I decided to do it right and, after a 2 days pause from PE, I laid down, got my tape out, and proceeded to get myself erect. I measure my EG, all is ok, no discrepancies from the standing up measurements, but then came the length measure: according to the one I took while standing up (a week before), my BPEL was 16cm/6.4in, but my lying down stats fluctuated between 14.5-15 cm ?? I stood up and measured again and, sure enough, stats show 16cm BPEL. All this got me thinking: Am I doing this right? How much have I really gained? Is it common to “lose” some length while lying down, does the shaft sink a little into the body or what? Please, help me understand what is going on!

Also, speaking of measuring day: how d you do it? Since mine is ruler shy, I have to get erect, measure, get 100% again and measure again, etc. I do measure like 4 -5 times and sort of average the results, and that-s what I write down in my log. I searched the forums but couldn’t find a FAQ on measuring, save for what I found out on the progress input instructions.

I hope you guys can help a newbie keep on gaining!

Thanks in advance!
Senior P.

After those first few months of some steady gains, measuring and gains can become more variable and erratic. This is to be expected, and is no cause for alarm. Pick one measuring technique and stick with it, as measurements are purely to track gains. Don’t let different measurements from different positions get you worried. It’s also normal for erections to fluctuate some just in normal life, based on stress (normal everyday stress or just the stress of it being “measuring day”), diet, arousal levels, you name it. It’s normal, it just makes it a little more difficult to gauge actual gains once the growth rate slows down considerably.

I won’t lie to you, the magic time of steady solid gains may be coming to a close. Those first 5-6 months of PE were the golden time for me. Gains will probably take longer and be tougher to come by as you head deeper into your PE venture, but stick with it. Also, it’s great that you’re keeping a log! Keep entering your accurate measurements so you can chart your progress over time and help stay motivated to reach your goal. I like to add notes and details about my exercises so when I look back over a 6 month or year period I can see what worked best and what didn’t work so well.

Thanks for the comment Illivan! Yikes, I didn’t know that those first 6 months were the golden period for gains.. But, as you said, I SHALL NOT FALTER, I will keep on it until I reach my goals; I’ve been trying to turn my life around, am getting fit and trying to muster the courage to talk to the ladies (MASSIVE anxious/depressive type here), PE has also become part of my routine for self improvement.

For the time being, then, I-ll stick to measuring while standing up, makes me feel bigger. Also, is there a recommended routine for after those first six months? I’ve read that I should keep doing it like so until I stop gaining with this method, and then it’ll be time to mix and match, but I’ve also read in the forums about dudes saying that, after the first 6 - 8 months, they switched to a “less is more” routine (something along the line of 3 min stretching and 20 min dry/wet jelqing). Right now I’m on a week long rest period from PE, to concentrate on Dick Control (thanks cheeva for posting that info!), so I was wondering if I should return to the newbie routine until the gains stop or do a preemptive switch to the “less is more”. Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks again and happy gains.

Do whatever gives you results, and don’t switch until results stop.

This might sound simplistic, but its the way PE works.

Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

Going for the magic 8"x6"

The key is more to measure consistently than anything else. I do standing for all measurements as I can make sure I don’t have any difference from variations in hip positions. I also do measurements at the mid-shaft and base to see if I’m getting differences in both places and what they are.

Start (Oct 2010) NBPEL: 5, BPEL: 5.875 inches, BASE GIRTH: 5.25 inches, MID GIRTH: 5

(November 2013) NBPEL: 5.875, BPEL: 6.625 inches, BASE GIRTH: 5.625 inches, MID GIRTH: 5

Goal NBPEL(7-7.5)xMEG(5.5-6) (journal)
