Masturbating too much?

I’m circumcised and I generally masturbate 1-2 times a day without lube. Lately it hasn’t been quite as enjoyable as it has used to due to extreme lack of sensitivity. Should I lay off for a while and let things down there cool off a bit before I start up again? I tried jelqing the other day for the first time in ages (haven’t PE’ed in about half a year) and I felt limited sensitivity and could feel that the skin was irritated down there. I am planning on taking a week off (that is a LONG time for me, believe me) and apply moisturizer multiple times a day to see if the skin will heal. Do you guys think this would do the trick? I’m mainly doing this in hopes to have my penis in good condition for a fresh new stab at PE’ing since I’ve had next to no results in the past.

I tried quitting completely (during a period of no sex either) and I wouldn’t recommend it. I did it for about six months - my balls shrank, and even a few months since that time I still come too easily - and didn’t get any gains.

I have recently changed my routine, and began masturbating again and I have seen new gains. Now although the gains are probably down to the new routine, I would say that the masturbation isn’t hindering me at all. As long as you don’t do directly before or after a routine, and you refrain from doing it all the time, I’d say it’s a positive influence on growth. In my opinion you shouldn’t do it less than once a week, and if I had to guess I’d say don’t do it more than once a day, personally I try and keep it to 2/3 times a week.

I’ve read in other posts that the testosterone produced as a result of masturbation or sex is helpful/necessary for growth. There’s a member (sorry I can’t remember the name or post) who, for both PE and body-building purposes, suggests masturbating at a set time once a week - say Saturday morning for instance. After a few weeks the body becomes used to it and begins to produce more testosterone during the period preceding it, in this case Friday night. Apparently you can use this spike in testosterone production to help growth, if you did your routine on Friday evening.

From what I’ve read on here is that masturbation is hormonal/chemical and does not effect PE which is mechanical in nature. Of course PE is not a definite science so it’s whatever works for you. I edge and masturbate as part of my workout, if you are feeling desensitized jerk off last and/or start to use lube.

I used to jerk it like crazy when I was younger and it was nothing but trouble. When I was 16 I was jerking it 1-3 times a day and my first sign was my dick wasn’t getting as hard. When I noticed this I started only jerking every few days and everything went away. I don’t think going cold turkey would be the best plan, I’d just start doing it much less.

This is a very true statement I think. If your getting lots of sex, you actually feel happy whether your tired or not. When you masturbate too much, your mindset towards getting laid changes I think. I find I’m a little more aggressive when it comes to picking up the ladies when I’m not whacking it so much.

As far as PE goes. Masturbation may or may not affect length gains. I think it can affect flaccid and girth gains simply due to the fact there is less blood in the penis. The less you whack off, the more boners you get = more blood in the penis than if you whacked off every time you felt the urge.

This is just an opinion from a guy that masturbates too much.

I wouldn’t recommend that man! Just like doing it 2 times a day, not doing it at all is counter-productive. First of all if you do 3 days of PE in between each “session” you give yourself the chance to get your erection that little bit bigger or longer with the PE in between giving it a small boost (maybe 1 mm or something). To the least you’d have to think it’s cementing the gains. Secondly, ejaculating is good for you. It’s not good to go more then a week without it. It’s good for the prostate. A couple times a week seems like a happy medium in my opinion.

Also, what vedusa said about testosterone and possible growth makes sense. It’s not proven (just a couple of vague links from studies that are hard to believe 100%). So it’s hard to want to abstain for 1 week for this reason alone, but it could be true and would make a nice side effect. Even going 3 or 4 days rather then a week, would be better then emptying the stockpile everyday.

The saying works here “Use it or lose it!” I have come across articles, were if you don’t masturbate or have sex, your testosterone and sperm production goes down and your testicle and penis starts shirking(also testicle starts hardening). In our case probably we do not see penis shrinkage because of PEing. So over straining like 1-3 times a day is not good but at the same time you need to find your own comfort level of keeping your system up.

Any thing done or taken in overdose is bad for you. I personally been choking the chicken since I was 14, that was ten years back. If you are not in a relationship it can hinder your getting into one by depleting your desire to gain satisfaction because you know you got a date with Mrs.right-hand. I’m not saying don’t I just saying over-indulgence has psychological side effects. I almost started my own thread about this.

For a very long time I’ve masturbated too much I think. Not only that but what gets me off has got very specific. Unsurprisingly it’s big dick porn and girls discussing their affection for a large size.

The result is that getting an erection is now quite hard for me and often it’s not of that high a quality. The thing is, I can still get as hard as rock (as in unquestionable 10.. As hard as when I’m on Viagra) but ti really takes a lot to get me there. The impact on my sex life is most worrying of all. On more than one occasion I’ve lost my erection during sex or taken a painfully long time to get it up to begin with.

Here’s my take on it.

I am unsure whether or not it’s the physical aspect of masturbation that’s done me in (less sensitivity) or whether it’s the mental aspect of developing such a specific turn on and not being that turned on during sex because I don’t yet have the big dick I crave. The problem is, in order to keep up the motivation to do PE I need to remind myself why I want to do PE, so the mental aspect is unlikely to go away..

It’s a tough one but I think I’m gonna cut my spanking down to about twice a week and see what happens.

This seems like a perfect time to kind of throw these random findings of myself out there and see if it rings any bells with some one.

When I was younger, for what ever reason, I tried to see how long I could go with out masturbating. Now, I can’t exactly remember but after about one and a half to two weeks I kind of “lost” my sex drive. I’m not sure why, but I just did. I’ve always found that I’m a three-day, by that I mean if I can abstain for three days I can go for how ever long I want. The third day is always torture, and I’m not sure if other guys are like this too — I assume we all have something like this — but it is pretty much me wanting to nail just about everything that walks by and rather frequent erections.

The first two days aren’t bad, in fact I use to be in a 3-day cycle simply because of this, and after the third day it isn’t bad up until that week and a half to two week mark which pretty much lands me feeling like I just pulled one out alone on a Saturday night. I really don’t care for the subject any more and just want to move on with my life. Point is, those first two days and the days between the third and the dead zone — if you will — are pretty much.. "Normal”.

This would leave me to believe that not only does your body tend to want to get off more if you are getting some, or you just become a chronic masturbator, but that it also essentially turns it self off if you don’t. Every once and a while I hit a week where this doesn’t apply and I just seem up and at the ladies all week — despite how much I try to remedy that — but in general I just find this to be true.

P.S. - The longest I went was 6 1/2 weeks and after that it took me about 6 1/2 seconds to finish. Which if you’re abstaining to hit on the women harder may land you in a rather bad spot.

Has anyone thought about masturbating to the point where your about to blow, then stopping and then P.Eing.? I mean wouldn’t your testosterone level be up a lot at this point. Is there any hard evidence between testosterone levels and better gains?
