Lubes & Heat Question.

Lubes & Heat Question.

Lately I’ve been contemplating switching from the grapeseed oil I’ve been using for most of the last year to a non-oil based lube. I actually love everything about the grapeseed oil EXCEPT for the clean up. I’m a busy dude and I’m always having a tough time finding a good block of time to do a complete workout so consequently I’m not as consistent with my routine as I’d like to be. This is the only reason I’m contemplating switching lubes.

My question revolves around the issue of heat. Oils tend to change temperature very slowly & retain a consistent amount of warmth compared to lotions which seem to cool rapidly. If maintaining a degree of warmth throughout the jelq session is ideal then would using a lotion or cocoa butter cream or what not potentially limit the effectiveness of the jelqing? I’m a firm believer in the use of heat (thanks to Firegoat & friends) but I sometimes wonder if some who struggle with gains even with diligent, consistent routines use lotions vs oils and are losing warmth in their ding-dong throughout their jelq sessions???

I don’t like the hassle of cleaning up my grapeseed oil but I won’t trade off less effectiveness with jelqing using something else. I think I’m close to plateauing so I don’t want to try a change that will stall me.

Any thoughts?

You could always use lotion and warm up between jelq sets. I always warm up after every set of an exercise to maintain the temperature as high as possible.

Or if you don’t mind using a hot shower for your routine, simply use soap as a lubricant. This way your heat source merely requires you to turn around. Also I’ve read from members that soap is not recommended because it can irritate and dry out the skin. I however have not had this problem with soap. I use dove sensitive skin unscented soap with moisturizing cream and have not had any issues. If your penis gets dry some days simply rub some lotion onto and you should be good to go. Just be careful not to get soap in the tip, that stings.

Best of luck to all fellow PE-ers in their journey.

I use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion which doesn’t provide a glide but more smooth friction. It helps with the slow pulls and feels way better than dry jelqs. I end up with a decent plump dick and the clean up is minimal. I either wash up with water and towel off or just spread the excess lotion and suit up.

I doubt you will like it if you are using oils but I thought I would share my experiences.

Thanks for the responses.

Juiice, I’ve tried soap and it drys out my skin real bad. One time in my youth I used soap to whack off with and afterwards the skin on my ding-dong was like dry parchment and it hurt, ugh! I’ve got even more sensitive skin these days.

Craven, just spreading & rubbing in the lotion afterwards is what I’ve done back when I used to use lotion. It is really convenient but do you see any difference in results using an oil vs a lotion?

I don’t think you have to put that much thought into your lube , if your lotion cools off , it shouldn’t matter, your penis is warmed up on the inside, as long as your skin is slick for your jelqs, that’s all that should matter !

I have used oils before and have noticed that I end up doing more jelqs to achieve the equal plump feeling that I have with lotion. The friction with lotion is greater so it helps in maintaining the nice slow jelq and I get great expansion. My wife even commented on how big my dick looked after a session so I asked her to lift it up so she could feel how heavy it was. You can also add a few drops of water during the session when the friction is too much to help with the glide. I’ve done that to avoid adding more lotion during the session.

As for results, the first time I did PE my jelqs were with oil and I did not achieve any girth gains in the first month. The second start for me I started with oil then switched to the lotion because of availability and ended up with 1/16” girth gain in the first month. I should add that most of my jelqs is in the downward motion because I like to give my penis a slight pull as I re-grip with my other hand. The lotion allows me to give an easier pull since I don’t have to grip as hard to hold on to the penis. Also when I’m starting my next jelq, I push my hand into my fat pad so I can get the longest stroke.

I don’t know if that is due to the lotion or just better jelqing technique but if the lotion is helping achieve a better technique than that is what I’m going to use. My advice is to use whatever works best for you and allows you to perform the best jelq possible.

Hopefully this gives you some ideas to try or enough information to stay with your current setup. Either way, GL on your gains and keep us posted on your progress.

Thanks Craven, great food for thought. Now that you mention it the lotion seems like it’s something of middle ground between a dry jelq and wet jelq which should help with expansion. Back when I used lotion I usually used to just use more & more lotion through the session, never really though of adding water. That cost was also one of the reasons behind switching to the grapeseed oil.

Cool then, I’m thinking I’ll try the lotion route again but I think I’ll add a small heater or hair dryer to help maintain the warmth during the session. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Thanks again brother! :)

No problem, and you are exactly right about it being between a wet/dry jelq. I’m not a big fan of dry jelqs because they just didn’t feel good so the lotion was a nice compromise.

You might also notice that the extra friction keeps you penis warmer and you might not need the hair dryer.
