I think I’ve got this LOT theory figured out, but couldn’t you just overcome a low LOT by hanging upside down? lol Does that make sense? What if you just positioned YOUR BODY so that when you’re hanging, you’re hanging UPWARD, toward your chin, instead of down toward your feet. Wouldn’t that stretch the Tunica as opposed to just the ligs?

You’re onto something - it’s called the OTS (over the shoulder) angle - but instead of flipping your body upside down you simply place the weights, via a cord of rope, over your shoulder and down your back.
This way you will achieve what you are talking about - tension that directly stresses the tunica/inner penis and takes the ligs out of the equation.
Some guys go so far as to construct an overhead pulley system for this “high angle” hanging.

In the end, it is a lot easier to surf the web when not standing on your head :)

Hey, what are you using to hang with?

I’ve been contemplating LOT theory for a long time and it still doesn’t really make sense to me.

The reason for a low LOT is long ligs and therefore one stretches at high angles to target the tunica; until the tunica has caught up with the ligs.

But surely if one hangs or stretches straight down, the tunica will still be targeted, because one cannot effectively target the ligs, and therefore the stress of the hang will be received by the tunica.

It’s no reason not to stretch upwards aswell, but I can’t see that it should make much difference either way.

I found that my LOT angle had gotten higher after 3-4 weeks into my routine. I’m not sure if this is normal, or a required time frame to actually measure your true LOT although. I recall guys saying that their LOT seems to change when focusing on different angles while stretching/hanging??

I believe you are correct. The theory goes that no matter what the angle you hang at, the tunica receives stretch. But it also posits that if the ligs are taking stress, and there is no room left in the ligs for “growth”, the inner penis - that part of your unit behind the ligs and within the body - is not being affected by the tension. It is, in essence, simply sitting there slack, and some argue that by stressing the entire penis - inside and out - you optimize your effectiveness, and the only route to this is via upper angles.

Personally, I have never bothered with this - mostly because according to the LOT Theory I have plenty of room left for lig gains, but also because lower angle hanging is less complicated, and as you noted there is still stress being applied to the shaft.
I have also run into a few bouts of temporary numbness using OTS. Never with BTC.

That’s what I have heard too. Hobby first proposed the idea that one’s LOT might “rise” through hanging at upper angles. A search might bring up some thoughts on the matter.
