Loss of EQ from IC damage?

Loss of EQ from IC damage?

After reviewing an old thread which was very popular in’09 by Matt356, concerning mis-application of ” kegels” to get and maintain an erection, I wonder if anyone out there can confirm my question about a loss of EQ based upon the following from practical experience? The discussion centered, at one point, upon the fact that the BC muscle was on the lower, urethral side of the inner penis while the ischiocavernosus (IC) (which Matt says is responsible for 85% of the erection), parallels the penis on the the dorsal, upper side and has its posterior ligiture attachment a couple of cm inside the pubis WHICH IS ALSO THE LOCATION OF THE LIGAMENTS WE ARE ALL ATTACKING FOR LENGTH GAINS. My question is: Has anybody felt that, as a Newbie, EQ was not lost from jelqing but from heavy handed SD stretching which affected the IC negatively? I belive my loss of EQ 2 months into PE was from that effect. Care to comment? Thanks.

For me personally Kegels are more of a hindrance than a help:

-My glans doesn’t inflate much and becomes desensitized if I do kegels regularly.
-I can’t ejaculate unless I use a death-grip, use incredibly fast strokes and hold a kegel at the same time. (Basically means I can’t ejaculate from penetration alone).
-If I do regular kegels my EQ isn’t as good as it could be.
-If I do regular kegels I can’t maintain an erection for long even when incredibly horny and stimulated.
-If I kegel while erect I begin to lose my erection which then starts the process of kegelling more, using a stronger grip and stroking faster.

I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, or as we call him in Zimbabwe, four hundred million dollars.

Postscript: I neglected to add, above , that after about a week with no PE, as best I can remember, EQ returned to normal and the SCARE was over.

You know, I don’t think it’s because of the dorsal tendon of the penis. Even if You look at it in anatomical way, the tendon is attached to the medial line of the penis, the IC muscle covers the upper side but also both sides so I see no exact influence. What could happen is that (and maybe you also experienced it - I did few times):

When you don’t have 100% hard erection and you have sex/perform some elongating exercises - you may occasionally 1/hundred times hear (yes - hear) the sound like when something got broken, crashed down there. Although the penis is not made of the bone and is not 100% covered with muscles - there are complex tissues. I can’t draw it here but trust me that all this BC, IC, tendons, corposes and urethral ducts are somehow connected. You can damage them by using too much power as same you can damage your hips when you try to stretch your legs. If you “damage” your abductors somehow, you won’t be able to walk even if your legs are ok. You won’t be able to walk until the tendon of the hip is ok again. Same with your penis. If you tried too hard, maybe you “twisted” or damaged some fragile structures but it’s not something you should worry about because your penis still is ok.

I think that Westla would have something interesting here to add, because I remember there were some interesting drawings and explanation about the penis-stretching thing. I guess somebody also had problems with tendons and erection - it was somewhere here - try to search this forum with “advanced option”.

Anybody remember anything?

Matt:

Thanks for your very clear post. I’ll try the “Westla” reference. This is very interesting because I read a lot of threads whereby even senior members are perplexed to find a theory to explain poor erections even if they are “doing everything right”.

Cheers,

I doubt there’s any connection between the suspensory ligament stretching and possible damage to the ischiocavernosus muscles or ligamentous attachments. See image below. They’re in two different places on the penis and the pelvic bones/pubis.

Overtraining is well known to cause erection problems, but a specific reason would be difficult to determine because each man does his exercises in slightly different ways. There may be nerve problems, circulation problems, or just plain fatigue.

As long as a rest returned you to normal, then there’s not much point in trying to determine a cause. However, I will say that ligaments are tough and difficult to damage with simple PE exercises.

One thing I should correct is the notion that the IC muscles contribute greatly to an erection. I’d say that 85-95% of an erection is due to the corpora cavernosa (CC) filling with blood and perhaps 5-15% from IC muscle compression of the crura (inner part of the two CC). Those muscles are under voluntary and involuntary nervous control. You can consciously contract them and they will also contract automatically at the time of ejaculation to make the penis harder. This allows deeper penetration for the deposition of sperm.

At the same time the BC (bulbocavernosus muscle, but more correctly called the bulbospongiosus) contracts to help make the glans harder and to force semen from the urethra (in addition to the contractions of the seminal vesicles and prostate).

Westla:
Great post! Those Images are the only ones I have seen that are truly explanatory. (side view , plan view, viva section, all cross identified). Every Newbie ought to study these carefully. I thought the ICs crossed upwards and connected to the septum or ,perhaps the the susp. lig. I do, however believe that my ICs were somehow wounded because my erect girth was positive (lots of blood in the CCs), but my dick would flop over, side to side (not top to bottom) and of course the ICs are there to stabilize forward thrust. What the images clearly show is that the ICs meld into the CCs and are clearly synergistic. I realize that PE is not pure science but it is certainly helpful for you and others with specific knowledge to come forward. Thank you so much!

I just started kegel exercises but reading this makes me want to stop.

Takamura - don’t stop. Try! What can you loose? It works different with different people.

I don’t want to discourage you more, but I’m in a similar situation as TS, meaning if I kegel I don’t get any benefits, au contraire, my eq drops and I’ve tried a couple of variations of doing kegels, the result=0.

I will try it and see where it leads me, at the moment my EQ isn’t so great. I read lots of good things that kegels can do to one’s erections, way more positive things than negative.
