Losing EQ easily with light workouts

I’ve been a lurker on and off for a few years. I tried the newbie routine a few times but always felt discouraged because even a light workout would lead to an immediate drop in EQ. I usually get some nice engorgement during the workout, but right after, it will feel floppy and weak, and then I’ll have poor EQ and no morning wood for days. It seems like those that get the most gains can withstand heavy workouts, I’m the opposite. Haven’t really made any gains.

For instance, I was reading about dry jelqing yesterday (as they seem to help girth more), did 10 minutes of dry jelqing (with 5 minutes warmup, 5 minutes stretching, 5 minutes cooldown) and now today my dong feels dead.

My stats are 6.5 BPEL x 4.5. My goals are modest, would be happy with 7 x 5, or 7.5 x 5.5 as a stretch (pun intended haha) goal.

I have lots of time, freedom, but how can I get my dick to get stronger? Should I just start really slow, like literally <5 minutes of jelqing and work my way up gradually?

If it matters, I am early 30s and have an ectomorphic body type, although I’m not a hardgainer when it comes to muscle. I also eat a really healthy diet. One lifestyle factor that may impact PE is that I have to take NSAIDs here and there (around 3-4 times a week) and these hurt nitric oxide production.

Thats probably it. Does (NO) then harm you or is it just a side effect? If not then you could experiment with NO supplements like arginin or L-Citrullin(better) might help you.

Other then that if the intensity is too high then go even lower even if its low compared to most routines..
You can play with Time or intensity. Like less intensity more time. Or less repetition.

The thing is, I had the same issues when I first started PE back in the day, before I had to use the NSAIDs. The lowered NO is just a side effect, but people use them all the time (Advil and Aleve are NSAIDs).

Has there been anyone who has gained on a really minimal routine, like a few minutes per session?

That is really encouraging, thank you! Although it sounds like he didn’t get any girth gains, which are my main focus. Are there any people out there that have gained meaningful girth on light routines? I’ve been searching through threads but haven’t found any so far.

Going to wait until these negative PIs from my last session subside and start from a very low base with careful calibration.

Maybe an alternative approach to EQ issues

If EQ is the issue my question is: do you do Kegels? And what about a base chakra massage? Being middle aged, EQ is a main concern I monitor for myself. It even is one of my main motivations for doing PE.

I work quite a bit with Kegels and massage. Kegels are done up to 15 minutes and the exercise is on a daily base. I mix quick kegels (1 second pulses) for 2 minutes, regular kegel (5 sec impulse, 5 seconds pause) for 8 mins, long kegels (20 sec on, 0 off) for 3 minutes and “superkegels” (50 secs on, 10 off) for 2 minutes. My EQ goes definitely up within a couple of weeks.

The other factor is what I call the base chakra massage. Without having scientific proof, I think it’s beneficial for the ‘inner penis’. I include it in my regular PE routine between stretching and jelqing. Its 5 minutes of first tender and then more and more massage from the anus towards the scrotum. I guess it helps me getting better blood circulation in that part of the penis.

So far, all PI’s are positive by now (2 weeks ago, restarting after a very long break) and identical as when I started back in 2012.

I guess you have to take the NSARs for a.certain reason - replacing or reducing them should certainly being talked through before action with your medic of trust.

Maybe this helps you to be able to get into a slightly more intense PE routine after a couple of weeks (or maybe months - every body is so different no time guarantee can be given).

Thanks Richard! I was thinking about everything and came to the conclusion that I need to do everything possible to improve EQ. I’ve started doing kegels, and will try your massage. I was doing some stretching yesterday that improve blood flow to that region and it seemed to really help, got a great erection last night and woke up with morning wood today. I think in general my blood flow is poor so need to work on that.

How much cardio do you do? Strengthening your cardiovascular system is a great way to increase EQ. Also, do you smoke/drink frequently? Some people are able to gain despite lifestyle factors, others not. Also, how often do you ejaculate? The frequency and proximity of your ejaculations to your workout has an effect on EQ for many people. Just a few things to think about.

Haha, great avatar. I don’t do much cardio and this is definitely a key weak point for me. I do walk a lot and hike/dance occasionally, but not much intense cardio. I feel like this will help a lot. In general, I can tell that my blood circulation is pretty bad.

I don’t drink at all, and have been on-and-off with smoking but recently kicked it for good. I usually ejaculate 3-4 times a week, usually never on days that I do PE workouts.

So my plan is basically:

1) Low and slow PE workouts
2) More cardio
3) Continue weightlifting
4) Healthy living, no drinking, no smoking
5) Stretching the groin area, massage
6) Kegels every day

It’s best to buy a NO booster with 5g citrulline and 1g arginine in its mixture with antioxidants in it. It seems to keep the ingredients working as long as you take it. I know the pure powders are cheaper but for some reason they don’t work longer than 3 weeks without losing its effect. I’ve talked to a few others and they said the same about the bulk powders. They work really good for 3 weeks then the effects start to fade.


7-20-16: BP: 7.63 NBP 6.75 x 5.75

3-22-17: BP: 8.44 NBP 7.56 x 5.75

Those all sound like good ideas. Anything to increase circulation in a healthy manner is good for your entire body.

One thing to also consider is that some guys can’t handle 5 minutes of jelqing at the standard 3 second jelq speed without a drop in EQ. Not too many guys like that but I am one of those guys. For me that’s too much volume.

I recently started PEing after recovering from an injury. I was pumping very lightly to increase circulation after I was healed. I wasn’t jelqing because I was worried about dorsal compression but I recently dropped the pump and started jelqing again. I’m also going for girth.

What’s working for me is a very light routine. I’m doing one day on one day off routine of 2 minutes manual stretches followed by 40 dry jelqs. I am circumcised but I am trying to even out a taper so I’m not worried about a baseball bat shape at this point. I personally find I can get much more expansion this way.

I heat before stretching and again before the first 20 jelqs and then again after the first 20 jelqs.

With each jelq I just focus on maximum expansion without discomfort. Each jelq takes me about 6 to 7 seconds if I had to guess. If I tread into the discomfort zone, I experience a drop in EQ. I am currently measuring 4 & 5/16” MSEG Pre workout and 4 & 9/16” MSEG post workout.

This may or may not work for you. If you’re circumcised and don’t have a taper you want to even out, dry jelqing wouldn’t be the beat choice for you.

Thanks alterdst8! We are around the same girth and sounds like we have similar physiology, so makes sense that a similar approach would work for us.

I have been doing stretches, one that I found was sit on the couch with my legs in an opposing V shape (like this < >) and my feet touching, then pulling my knees towards me (my feet come apart). It seems to really help with blood flow. My PIs have recovered but this week is shaping up to be heavy on the sexual front, including a new partner, so don’t want to risk it with a workout until Monday. Can’t wait!

I would recommend boosting your heart rate to 170 at least two or three times a week. I used to run about 6 mph but it didn’t seem to matter how far I ran my heart rate never got over 150-155 and I didn’t really see a difference in my EQ. I did some reading and found that I wasn’t raising my heart rate high enough to get the desired effect so I added sprints into my run and pushed my heart rate up to 170-175. The difference was day and night and my EQ went from 90-100% to 110% without fail.
