Kegels - Fast or Slow Contractions?

I’m sure this has been asked at one point or another in the history of Thunder’s, but there are so many threads on kegels it’s hard to find.

In body building, I’ve heard in many instances it is better to have slow concentric and slow eccentric contractions. For people who may not know that is the time taken to do a positive(concentric) or a negative(eccentric) in each rep.

Is there anyone out there with a lot of experience with kegels that knows if there is a benefit in doing this with kegels? For instance, instead of doing a 10 second hold, do a 4 second concentric contraction, hold for 2 seconds, then do a 4 second eccentric contraction.

This is my first post here, but this is how I see it.

Part of the goal of doing kegel exercises is to improve control over the muscles. With this in mind, here’s what I do:

My first set, I start with about 50 long, slow contractions.
The second set, I do one fast, hard contraction followed by a long, slow one. Repeat 50 times.
Third set, 50 fast and hard contractions.

This totals 200 contractions. Obviously, adjust according to your own needs.
I’m just a beginner when it comes to PE, so I can’t say that it has helped me gain anything, but it has definitely helped me with my ejaculation control.

I second you here, greaver. Gain-wise, kegels are pretty much irrelevant (there’s no stress exerted on the tissue). But being able to perform both slow and quick (yet at the same time intensive) contractions was the key to achieving better ejaculatory control for me.

Maybe I am wrong but I figured most performed kegels as part of PE to improve EQ moreso than control ejaculation.

Has your program improved EQ?


Current (Sept 15, 2011) BPEL - 7.6 MSEG - 5.8

Goal 8 x 6 (preferably NBPEL)

I do Kegels both for EQ and ejaculation control. I also do 15 second holds and 2-3 second holds. I haven’t mastered this yet, but I can usually have an orgasm without ejaculating.

Luck has nothing to do with it. Practice is the key. I had to do this many times by myself before I was able to do this with a woman.
