Just started my journey recently and looking for advice.

Before I ask some questions, here’s a little info about me:

I’ve known about this site for over a year, but never decided to take the plunge because I thought I’d do something wrong and permanently break my penis. I have always been self conscious about the size of my penis (probably due to all the porn I watch), so I’ve avoided sex all together. In other words, I am a 21 year old virgin. I’ve done some research on the science behind PE, but there isn’t much information that isn’t anecdotal. It wasn’t until I saw a post that said to think about the penis as a muscle you’d work out in the gym and it all made sense - create tears in the muscle and once it heals, it will be stronger than before. The last thing I needed was motivation. How many people have done this and succeeded? Then I saw that thread with comparison pictures and that was enough to get me going. I’ve watched some of the beginner videos and looked at some of the routines. My penis is 4 inches in length (EL) and 4.8 inches in girth. Not by any means a micro-penis, but I would like to be 6 inches (EL) in length or bigger, so I can feel a little more average; girth is kind of a meh to me because I think that 4.8” is average or slightly above (can’t remember). I’m doing the newbie routine and started Nov 2 and haven’t missed a day yet (2 on, 1 off). I know like building any muscle, it takes time. You have to gradually increase the resistance to get bigger muscles and not plateau. So I am prepared and patient to get to where I want to be.

So here’s my questions:
When you first start working out, for the first 3 months or so you get “noob gains”. Being able to increase the weight faster than if you have lifted weights for year. Are there noob gains in PE? When do they stop? On day 7 I measured just out of excitement and noticed I gained 0.1” in length (BP), but that could just be due to pressing the string I use to measure farther into the skin (is there a name for area of skin the penis protrudes from?)

I am uncircumcised. So for the first 4 sessions, I stretched without pulling the foreskin back. Then a few days ago, I saw a post saying you should pull the foreskin back when stretching and that’s what I did in today’s session. Any tips for keeping the foreskin from sliding back over the head? Do you use both hands?

I am doing the newbie routine and it says I should do it for 6 weeks and gradually increase stretching and jelq times. Should I follow this in terms of doing it for 6 weeks? Or is a month ok? I’ve been gradually increasing stretching times and for jelqing, I just do it for 1 additional minute then I did the previous session. Like today, I jelqed for 16 minutes. Is this ok? Or should I slow down on the jelqs?

After finishing the newbie routine, is there any routine that you would recommend? Say an intermediate routine? Cause I know in weight lifting routines progress in terms of skill level: noob, intermediate, advanced, etc.

How do you determine how erect you are? I’ve seen a lot of people say you should do this at 40% and this at 60% erect, but I only really know how it feels to be 100% erect. How do you gauge this?

Is there anything wrong with edging? It seems to me like it would help a little as long as I don’t cum.

Any general tips you would give to a noob like me? It seems like I would be to attain my goals in about 2-3 years depending on how my penis responds, so I will be here for awhile.

That’s all I can think of for know, so thanks to everyone that read this. All of my stats are on my profile. If I can come up with another question, I will ask in the thread.

Welcome to our awesome frat

The muscle analogy would be more like the ear gauging analogy. Meaning you stretch it out gradually, and one day boom you have a long penis. Just be careful when you grip to get an excellent hold on the tunica so there is no slippage.

There is a type of smooth muscle in the unit, but for now learn to do jelqs the right way. Arouse yourself a little to get some blood in there, but still be flaccid.

Now ok grip that blood, and firmly push it forward.

Go slow, you don’t need to do that many jelqs brother if you perform ten good ones you’ll definitely feel tissue breakdown.

Some guys go crazy with hundreds of improper jelqs, and they don’t gain more than thrombosed veins. Some tug away at there dik like a idiot, and can get permanent nerve damage.

Its true that PE is about pushing yourself, but not to the point of injury. Take it slow, and discerning for now. Some months down the path you will have the wisdom to gain as many inches as you want.

I edge to be honest, its mainly for expansion although I do get my rocks off. Discipline yourself to cum about once a day after your stretches/jelqs. This ensure you always have a good chubby flaccid going on.

My tips, don’t measure too often, know it will be a long process, pay attention to your body reactions (plump flaccid, EQ (read the thread by sparkyx) ) , rest enough, rest is as important as working out.

You rather start slow and low and increase intensity overtime, more intensity doesn’t mean more gains. If you increase intensity too early too much you should preventing yourself from gaining, on the other hand, if you’re undertraining and slowly increase to find your own sweet spot of intensity, you will stumble on it. The choice is easy to make in my opinion!

I’d be careful about “firmly pushin forward”, be gentle, especially as you start.

THink about the next step (your next routine) once you’ve completed the first with commitment and consistency (and no overtraining = worse thing to do) . If you happen to make gains from the beginner routine why would you change?!

Edging definitely help with EQ and maximizing the gains by pushing the tissues.
Not releasing in a few days , apart from allowing you to be hornier, have more energy, is fun!
It brings it’s own work load though, don’t do it everyday.

When did you start? 16 minutes of jelqs sound already a lot to me.

To give indications, 70%-80% of erection level is still pliable, right before starting to be too erect.
30 % is a good plumpie.

Alright, thanks for the advice. I should read up again on the proper way to jelq. Should I be gripping my penis hard like I’m choking it? Or just enough to pull the skin back?

I started Nov 2 and was just adding +1 min after each session. I will definitely tone it down. Should my penis be sore after doing a routine? Thanks for the tip on the percentage, it makes a little more sense now. Ya that’s what I was thinking about edging since you are erect for a long time.. Will continue to do so.

Your penis doesn’t have to be sore.

Except for hangers.

It’s not bad either, the mild soreness close to what working out feels. If you get it just make sure to take the next day off (especially for girth work).

I admit I like it, but if you want gains from it, you’ll need a proper recovery time .

I understand how you feel about being small, as I have a small penis as well. Is your length measurement bone-pressed? If it’s not bone pressed then you might not be as small as you think. My starting length might be a little bit bigger than you (11.0cm / 4.331” bone-pressed) but my girth is way smaller than you (only 9.9cm / 3.898”). I too aim to reach 6” in BPEL, and anything extra is a bonus. You got a good girth and hopefully I can reach your starting girth some day. :)

I do think that there are newbie gains, I certainly have experienced them. I got quite good progress in my first 3 months and managed to gain about 1/2” length in that period. My gains start to slow down after that but I’m still seeing some progress, although it’s quite slow. I think this is where your willpower and patience comes in, and you have to be patient and consistent to continue getting results. :)

I am uncircumcised too myself. My foreskin is quite short so it naturally retracts easily. I think the main reason to retract it back is to ensure that you’re stretching the whole penis and not just the skin. When jelqing, I just jelq like normal and let the skin go over the head. I think you shouldn’t be too bothered about this and just work with whatever you feel best. :)

This is something that you would need to work out yourself. The erection level is quite subjective and there is no absolute scale on it. It’s a general “feel” of your erection state so that we can relate to each other. Take it more like a general guideline and not absolute on how it should be.

0% would be completely flaccid, your smallest softest possible and 100% would be your biggest hardest possible. What lies in between is up to your own judgement. I think in real life it’s quite hard to be trully 0% as there will always be some blood in it, and maybe more like 10% when flaccid. 30%-60% would be a semi-erection and 70%+ is when you would “start” to feel the erection. Again, different people have different scales and my 50% and 80% might be someone else’s 30% and 90%, so bear that in mind.

Take it easy and slowly. Be patient and consistent. I’m happy to see that you have already got the mindset of this being a long term process and have a timeframe of 2-3 years in mind. I think the problem with a lot starters is that they wanted huge gains in short terms, and they give up too quickly when they don’t see it happening. More dangerously is some people who chase gains and ramp up their intensity too fast which ultimately led to injuries.

Another advice is to take good measurements and photos to document your progress. You don’t have to post it here if you don’t want to (it would be great if you do!) and it will useful to compare and track your progress.

Hopefully I’ve given you some good answers and advice. Good luck and good progress! :)

Thank you for your input and answers. I know most good things in life come with time and patience and PE is probably another one of those things. I switched over to the Linear Newbie routine on Nov 14 because it ramps up the intensity so slow. I wish you luck on your journey. If there is anyone else out there, with some beginner advice, please let me know.

Oh and so sorry forgot to mention that 4” is just my EL. My BPEL is 4.5”

Hi Zer0, welcome to TP!

You seem like you’ve got your head screwed on the right way and are willing to take the sensible approach to PE.

I certainly find dry jelqing to be better for my uncircumcised cock. With dry jelqing you don’t use a lubricant; instead of sliding the grip over the skin of your cock, you move your skin with your grip. I place my grip so I can move my fingers deep into my fat pad and then move up the shaft to just behind the glans whilst not stretching the skin at the base at all. Using an overhand OK or C type grip makes it really easy to adjust the pressure of the grip and to focus that pressure more on the sides of my cock.

Personally, I prefer to jelq with a higher erection level. What is going to work best for you is for you to work out. As you’re more interested in length gains, you might be best keeping the erection level lower and focus on the feeling of stretching the meat of your cock as you move your grip away from the base.

When doing manual stretches, I retract the foreskin as far back as possible before applying a small piece of cloth and an OK grip behind the glans. I squeeze just hard enough as required to hold the tension whilst stretching in the desired direction. If the grip is too loose, the glans will slip between the fingers and the stretch tension is lost. Grip too tight and you just put unnecessary stress on your cock. It takes a little while to get just right.
