Just to quickly introduce myself as I’m a new member. I’m a reasonably healthy 56 years old guy, who practices a form of martial art daily and occasionally gets out the cycle to go for a spin.

About a decade ago I found out about jelqing and, despite a hectic schedule back then, I worked at it diligently for about 6 months, gaining about half an inch on my flaccid length and almost an inch on the length of my erection ( currently 5in flaccid, and 6 and 3/4 inches erect ) which my wife certainly noticed at the time.

These days I sadly have very little sex life due to my wife having developed a serious medical condition, but I still like to put a bit of bounce into the old fellow from time to time just to give it a bit more swing, and make myself feel better about myself ( I’ve noticed that her respiratory nurse often shoots a glance at my crotch, so I always have a good jelqing session on the mornings that she is due to visit :D , well it would be rude not to wouldn’t it? ).

I recently decided that I would like to increase my girth ( 5 1/4, 6 1/2 ) so I bought a vacuum pump, and realised last Monday ~ the first time I used it ~ that I had no idea how to use safely.. I popped my chopper in and pumped it up to around 12in/Hg where it felt really under pressure, watched the length go to around seven and a quarter inches and left it there for about 5 minutes, then I couldn’t get it off and discovered 3 small blood blisters when I eventually did manage to! I wasn’t overly encouraged.

So after looking around on the web I found this site, and here I am. Already I’ve been able to do a fair bit of useful reading on these pages which I can incorporate into a sensible and safe program.. I’ve decided that I’m going to alternate between jelqing and pumping, one ten minute session of each daily 5 days a week. I’m also going to add a tablet of L-Argentine to my daily vitamin intake [ I’ve used it before and was pretty impressed by it ]. I’m not looking for a miracle and if I can develop a bit of breadth over the next 12 months or so, I’ll be delighted.

Thanks to everyone who has posted information on this site that has proved useful reading to me. I’ll keep everyone posted on how I get on.

Welcome Malleolus. As you found out, 12hg is way too much for anyone, especially for a first time pumper. To be safe, keep it around 2 to 3hg.
