Sometimes, during jelqing, instead of a 60%-80% erection (as recommended), my penis drops to a 40%-50% erection, does continuing after this happens make jelqing less effective?

I’d say this is depending on what you mean by “less effective”. Jelqing a more flaccid penis to me sounds like going into the direction of a stretching exercise, therefore fostering length gains more than girth gains and vice versa.

So if you jelq at higher erection levels you are more likely to gain in girth. If you jelq at lower erection levels length gains will become more prominent. Just my two cents here.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. If you are going for girth though and have trouble keeping a 60-80% erection, try doing a kegel or two before each jelq to get more blood flowing.

And I think the recommended erection level is around 50-60%?? But yeah, if you’re aiming for length go with 40-60% erect, and do some manual stretches.

Kegeling works but have you tried Jelqing while sitting? I don’t know if it’s me, but I find that when I sit my erections get harder. I was going to make a poll about this at some point to see if this happens to everyone. Try it and let me know if it works.

I always sit and jelq. No problems here. Well the only problem is that I end up getting too many damn erections!

I too just recently started sitting instead of standing and it helped a bit with the erections. Worth a try.

Agree with LazyWally that decreased erection while jelqing just takes it in the direction of a stretch. When this happens to me, that’s just what I do. I change the focus of my motion from emphasizing tunica expanding, deathgrip jelq stretches (girthwork) to making the motion (at a lower erection intensity) be more about *stretching* my dick out from it’s root. I actually TRY to make sure I do this in my workout as I feel the dynamic switchup between jelqing and stretching gives me a more robust workout. My unit is always much more “worked out” and has a better flaccid pump after working out like this.

When your erection increases, emphasize the jelq motion. As it goes down emphasize the stretch.

I like that thought wantsmore. It makes sence. There are many ways to jelq but being dynamic, dynamic in this case which means instantly adapting to the whatever situation you are in jelqing whether you are completely flaccid jelqing or 75% erect jelqing requires practice and paitence to master this but the rewards are great when done. It’s a blessing from god IMO to get to this level at least in my life. Also I think BTB jelqing is HIGHLY UNDERRATED and could be the cause of many people not making future gains for length or girth IMO.

I can’t do my jelqs very well when standing, so I’m a sitter, too. More important thing is that when sitting your penis gets exposed more (=more effective length to work with!) and you get a better grip also as far as my observations go.

I try to jelq around 30 minutes per day and I don not have a real hard-on all that time. So as wantsmore mentioned, I just grip a bit tighter and pull out more to actually profit from my less flaccid state. That’s why I like jelqs that much - you can always try to get max use out of them, no matter what your unit is about to do.
