This has been talked about briefly in previous forums, but not to the extent I would like. So before today I was doing underhand jelqing, but decided to switch it up and throw some overhands in. When I did the overhands, I felt a greater expansion in my penis, but I also felt it worked more girth rather than length. Maybe due to the fact you can reach farther into your pubic bone drawing out more blood? This is good, but I feel like underhand jelqing is better for length. Possibly because no fingers are blocking the head of your penis as you move up the shaft, allowing you to create a more fluent movement. So when you get to the top you have a better idea of when to grip the base, keeping the dick in a more stretched state. Thoughts?

I too feel different types of expansion depending on my grip style. As for using one over the other, I use overhand because i can, as you say “reach farther into [my] pubic bone”. I also feel that by doing it this way, I get a better and more consistent engorgement. My routine is currently all about stretching (30 minutes) so my 5-10 minutes of jelqing are more about keeping EQ gains in line with length gains and to bring fresh blood into the mix after a workout. I have not noticed different gains based on what orientation my grip is.

Goal: NBPEL: 7.5", EG: 5.5"
