Jelqing technique when uncut - best way to get girth gains?

I’m coming up on about 3 months now since I’ve started the newbie routine, and I’ve gotten pretty decent length gains, but no girth gains which is really what I was hoping for. I just measured last night for the first time in a month and was a little disappointed.

What I’m wondering is if my jelq technique is not conducive to girth gain. For a few weeks I tried dry jelqing but found that I preferred wet jelqing, so since then I’ve been wet jelqing. What I do is, with the off-hand, gently hold both a bit of my skin at the base and my balls back so that my foreskin doesn’t slide up over my glans while I’m jelqing (I don’t actually make a strong grip at the base or anything). Then with the main hand I do 3-4 second strokes with an overhand grip. I do about 10 strokes and then switch hands. The last few weeks I thought maybe I was doing too much (had read some “less is more” threads) and dropped jelqing to 15 minutes.

So, this is different from traditional jelqing where you use two hands - you attach the second one at the base before you release the first one from right before your glans. Is this key in getting girth gains from jelqing? It seems like if you have your new grip at the base squeezed before you release the first one that more pressure is created and your strokes are building more upon each other. This is in contrast to fully releasing a grip after each stroke, in which you lose all of your pressure.

Thoughts on this? Also, the reason why I have been doing my technique is because I really don’t want my foreskin to cover my glans when erect. Currently it sits below my glans, and I really like how it looks that way so I don’t want more foreskin. Should I just not worry about my skin stretching a bunch and go with the two-hand jelq like I described?

Start (11/23/08) - 7.0" x 5.0" BPEL/MSEG

Current - 7.375" x 5.0" BPEL/MSEG

Short-Term Goal - 7.5" x 5.375" BPEL/MSEG

I’m uncut and I jelq the 2 handed way, I pay attention to use extra lube (I use 75% olive oil 25% baby oil) so when I jelq my hands slide across the skin and cause as little friction as possible, this way the inside of my dick is getting squeezed and the skin isn’t getting pulled. I’ve been PEing for a little over 2 weeks with the 2 handed technique and I can tell you I have gained girth this way, how much I’m not sure because I don’t measure to often but I can guarantee you I’m gaining. This method is more intense than the 1 handed method you described, also being uncut I also experienced feelings of frustrations in the beginning. I used to use a rubber band to help hold my skin back, now I don’t need it anymore because I just use extra lube. It’s just a matter of experimenting and finding what’s right for you.

Thanks for the input, so do you use the overhand grip?

It also makes a difference how erect/flaccid you are while jelqing. More erect (imagine a balloon filing up with air when you squeeze) is girth specific.

Yeah, I’d say I usually jelq at around 70-80%, although it’s tough to say what exactly “70%” is

I like to alternate between the overhand grip and the the regular ok grip, but usually (about 80% of the time) I just use the ok grip.

There is a few studies around saying that low level erection jelqing with an uncut penis with the skin forward produces good girth gains.

Kingpole is very informative on the subject, maybe you can have a go King?.

I jelq with the foreskin forward and I am obviously uncut using only a 10% - 25% erection.

Check out my thread if you like, there has been very good girth gains.

I’m around 5.8 - 6 girth and have just started to pump.

Wow evenflow, I had the exact same questions, glad you posted this. I just started PE a couple of weeks ago, and have been wondering about my jelqing technique. Like you, I like to keep a hand at the base to hold my skin back, but I do this also because I thought it prevents turkey-neck, which I don’t want.

So I’m not really sure which technique to use, holding the skin back or just using both hands to create more pressure.

I am likewise in the same boat, uncut, and still learning what the best way to jelq with me is. So far the best-feeling jelqs have been in the shower using conditioner as a lubricant (pretty much the only thing that works for longer than 5 seconds in the shower. I also use one hand to hold back the skin and an overhead OK grip, MY problem is that almost immediately after I start jelqing, no matter what % erect I was, I become 90% erect.
At that point I have to make one of two choices 1) stop (and this pretty much ends my workout because the erection won’t go away until I have pretty much lost interest AND my penis is no longer warm from the shower/heat wrap
or
2) continue jelqing, but do it with a very gentle squeeze so as not to injure myself from jelqing erect.

I don’t like either choice really, as I would like to jelq at a lower level to focus more on length, and minimize chance of injury.

Evenflow and Rkom: For girth what I sometimes do is when making a jelq stroke, when you get about 1/3 way down your shaft (in the direction of your head) kegel, this inflates the base of your shaft, and kind of pushes your hand foreward. If you keep squeezing the jelq, it creates a very nice stretchy feeling inside your dick, atleast if feels like it is working girth well. I can’t vouch for it because I concentrate on length at the moment, and only do girth when I want to show off a bit with somewhat of a bulge.

Yes.

I sometimes kegel my way from the base to the top, and it creates a push through.

For instance instead of moving your hands up the shaft, you are pulling the shaft through the OK grip.

Saves on arm strength sometimes.

I jelq at various erection levels with the skin forward. I have had no girth gains in the first 2 months from this method.
I incorporated jelq squeezes in, and in the last month and have gained about .1.

To combat turkey neck I moisturize regularly. I’m not too worried about it.
I wouldn’t worry about holding the skin back. I can’t think of any negatives of leaving it forward. I do stop before the head though. If you go the whole length of your penis maybe pulling it back would be a good idea.

Starting: NBPEL: 5.75" EG: 4.75" (widest point)

3.5 Months: NBPEL: 6.175" EG: 4.75"

Goal: Goliath

If I leave my foreskin foreward when jelqing, I have noticed I get a donut effect on my frenulum like pumpers get, it becomes swolen and sore. YMMV

I’ve been jelqing the way you described for over a year now. 4-5 times a week 20-30 min at a time.

I got about 0.5eg worth of gains before I started seriously clamping. So jelqing does work for girth gains. If you do it the other way where you completely let go in between strokes it just feels like your stretching/pulling and working on length only. You have to build and feel pressure and then move that pressure around if you want to see girth gains.

I understand this, my forskin is the same, it sits just below the glans. It was like that before I started and it still is now and I have always jelqed letting the skin bunch up at the end. After a year the forskin definitely has gotten bigger(thicker) and tougher but it hasn’t stretched at all, it still sits in the same place.

I think that by letting it bunch up at the end your preventing this problem because the skin you don’t want to stretch (skin just below glans) gets compressed (opposite of stretched) and you end up stretching or working on the skin thats on the lower shaft while you jelq.

I think your doing more harm then good by doing your technique because by holding the skin down at the base and letting that base skin bunch up. You then end up directly stretching/pulling on the skin you dont want to change while jelqing. (skin just below glans.)

I’ve been doing dry jelqing so far, but I’m taking wet jelqing into consideration… I’m also in a dilemma whether should I pull the foreskin back or let it go over the glans. I really don’t want turkey neck or to pull up the skin from the base of my penis so it ends up with hair on it. :S That’s why I think I should pull my foreskin back after all. Anyone care to describe step-by-step how to wet jelq with skin pulled back?

Also, I hear baby oil with vitamin E is good for your skin, that’s another good side of wet jelqing.
