So I started Jelqing a week almost a week ago. I’m doing 2 on, 1 off. My routine is as follows. Hot wrap with a hot rag for 5 min, soaking it a few times during the warm up. 6 to 7 min of stretching. 10 min of jelqing, followed by getting in the bath.

So Since I have been jelqing, I have noticed that my dick has been in a shrunken state for most of the day. Is this because its just worn out? My erection level is no more than 10% at best when jelqing.

Yes, maybe. Why don’t take a day or two off and see if anything gets better.

I actually did just that. I took the last two days off. My dick went back to normal. I jelqed this morning and it went back to a shrunken state till about 3 this afternoon. I’m guessing its just worn out and wants to be left alone,lol. I just wanted to see if this is something that happens to guys when they first start out PEing.

I think it is just a sign of overdoing it. Calm down a little, it might grow faster.

I’m pretty new myself so I don’t claim to be an expert. I’ve been at it for just over two months but was sidelined the last six days with a blister, and starting up again tonight. I haven’t noticed any actual growth yet, but my flaccid hang has been a bit lower, with no turtling. I noticed that you said that you’re jelqing at 10%? Is that even possible or a typo? Try to get to 50-70% erect (as a newbie), then jelq. 80-90% for someone with some time in, and who has properly conditioned their penis. Switch to using a rice sock. It feels to “me” that heat penetrates much better than a warm wash cloth. Good luck bro!

You are “turtling”. This is a negative PI (physiological indicator). I would go back and have a look at your routine. If you find that while jelqing your penis it is feeling tired or you are losing an erection quickly then chances are you are overdoing it. It could be that you are either going too long or your grip is too hard. If I had to guess I would say that 10 mins of jelqing is way too much. If I were you I would take a week off and the start over with only 20 jelqs and a light grip. Assess the situation the next day based off your your “PI’s” and go from there.

Just like others have said, I think you are doing way too much jelqs or jelqing too hard. You shouldn’t be training for exhaustion as much when starting out. For example when I did my jelqs last week and my erections reduced I cut back like 300 reps and focused on my technique. Either you’re squeezing way to hard or you are doing way too many reps. Good luck Oh and use lots of heat when warming up and warming down.

Your dick does not want to be left alone (no dick wants that, but that’s just a game of words :-) ), he tells to to do a little less.

So I would say:
- Less jelgs (max 5 minutes)
- Less force on the grip
- Slower jelqs (5 minutes is roughly 60 jelqs when taking 5 seconds per movement)

And, most important, more rest time. Because that is when growth happens - during recovery time, not during treaining time.
So better choose a 1on/2off schedule.

If you still have turtling, reduce to 1on/3off or even less.

Try that for the next month and I think your dick will start to accept the PE stimulus.

Mine can do this from even a light routine. Personally, and I can’t speak for you, but I think it’s part physical and part psychological response to the initial physical. I’m also a grower, and tend to vary in flaccid hang quite a bit.

What I’m doing for the moment is going extremely light. Low tension fulcrum stretches for maybe a minute. Then a few minutes of c grip jelqs.

I can’t begin to thank you guys for all the suggestions. I have been using a very tight grip, which most of you suggested was the part of the problem. So I’m going to take about 4 days off and start back with a lighter grip and less jelq time.

Once again, thank you guys.

Think about it this way: if you’re too gentle you won’t make gains, if you’re too rough you might break your dick. Which side should you err on?

I’d suggest jelqing for 3-5 instead of a full 10 minutes

But take the enough amount of time off before starting back up

There are many camps at TP because in fact many different things work - mine is the less-is-more camp with built-in 1-week decon breaks every 6 weeks “just in case” and very fortunately that has worked for my body. Took me months to get the hang of the fact that PE is a game of finesses which makes our eagerness something we must temper or we can over-condition the unit in a hurry and then you get nothin’!

Of course we’re all different but my gains only started when I backed off and my “injuries” (blisters & red spots) vanished when I reduced pressure on my manual stretches (was tugging the holy hell out of my dick and then wondering why it looked all withered & beat up). Anyway, with consistency and a good bit of trial of error your gains will come. Best of luck Oniel!

What if the difficulty to maintain an erection is psychological? (i.e. differing times of day)

Great question and as another TP member advised me, so many of our issues in this area are psychological and helped by relaxing & stepping away from PE mentally. This can take the form of putting less pressure on ourselves in this area of life - taking a PE chill pill (but staying consistent and having confidence that gains & better EQ or whatever will come if you listen to your body and react appropriately). In my case, I can’t say I’m where I want to be in the EQ area (especially in lasting as long as I want with my “enhanced” unit), but I can confirm the less I let myself be concerned with it, the better things are.
