Oops, I know, my title sounds like what we exactly want to happen to our penis. The title is actually what is happening when I’m jelqing.

I just started the newbie routine a week ago. I’m more interested at gaining length rather girth, so I always try to jelq with the recommended 20% - 40% level of erection. However, after several stroke, the erection of my penis goes to the 60% - 80% level, as if I’m getting aroused by jelqing (don’t worry, my workout doesn’t end in jacking off).

Is there anything I can do to keep at the 20% - 40% level? For the meantime, I want length gain more than girth.

It’s debatable but you could try masturbating 2-3 hours prior to jelqing. Jelqing isn’t the best way to gain length anyway IMO.

Yeah, masturbating before your workout helps at lowering the erection.

I was after length as well when I started. Unlike you, I had a difficult time keeping enough of an erection. I had to watch porn to keep it at 50%. I think my problem was thinking too much about work and what I should be doing instead of PE. So maybe think about work or some other thing non sexual in nature!

I think I made my length gains from stretching, not jelqing. I did manual stretches of different kinds for up to 30 minutes before and after jelqing.

Bird2 do you do any of that hardcore PE’ing with a pulley system and sandbags? Or did you get all that growth from jelqing/stretches?
