Is this clamp lamp safe for infrared bulb

Hi guys,

I am planning to build a infrared lamp and recently I have found this clamp lamp:

I love the design, the clamp looks strong and it has an adjustable goose neck. It has a ceramic socket that can accept bulb for up to 150 watts

I want to use it with the following Ceramic Infrared bulb:

I want to listen to you guys opinions first before I pull the trigger. Is that clamp lamp safe for the bulb? Thanks in advance!

We had an electrical engineer (?) here a long time ago that was very decided about not using bulbs with a higher wattage than the lamp’s rating. Something about home insurance being void in the case of fire, I think.

In your case, the bulb is 150 and the lamp is 150 - should be OK, as long as the bulb actually fits inside the lamp itself.

I really like this combo, but I had the same thought. Is there any way to verify that the bulb fits?

According to Zilla the clamp lamp has the following dimensions: L: 7.50  W: 6.75  H: 9.75

The stated product dimensions for the Ceramic Infrared bulb are 8.5 x 7 x 4 inches (according to amazon), but I think they are referring the size of the package. I can’t believe a bulb can be that “huge”
