Hey all,

I’ve never really been what I would call “addicted” to porn or masturbation. I would go months at a time without either and not really put much thought into it. I’m 30, don’t smoke or drink, pretty muscular (bodybuilder), and otherwise healthy guy.

However, over the last two months or so, I noticed I was masturbating to porn 4-6 times per week and I was getting off quicker and quicker each time. Last week I was trying to masturbate (let alone get an erection) WITHOUT looking at porn and I could only get like 50-60% hard no matter how hard I tried. Out of frustration, I turned on a porn video and got like maybe 70-80% hard and ejaculated within 30 seconds. It was at that point I knew something was “off” and I needed to fix it.

I’ve never had issues getting hard during actual sexual encounters (the last of which was about two weeks ago), but I’ve had instances in the past of being with sexual partners where I felt like my stamina was very short, like 1-2 minutes of penetration, especially when my erection quality is very high. Oddly, other times I would last 30-40 minutes but my erection would be weaker throughout, like I was “holding back” just so I wouldn’t orgasm too soon.

Thankfully condoms help me last longer even without numbing cream but I find them hard to maintain a solid erection in and I’d like to get to a point where my premature ejaculation “episodes” are not even a thought in the back of my head when I’m having sex, because it is definitely a form of anxiety now and I think a lot of it is due to the “hypersexual” response I elicit when I look at porn.

I’ve been doing NoFap (abstaining from porn, masturbation, and orgasm) for six days now and my dick feels lifeless and dead. No erections no matter how hard I try, and I’m just not interested in really thinking about sex right now. (The NoFap community refers to this as “flatline”.)

My question, could I still do PE while I’m working through NoFap to try and help resolve my premature issues and improve erectile quality? Do most of the people on here that do PE watch porn in order to get erect for their exercises?

Why not give yourself a few more weeks to see if you really have stopped all the bad stuff. PE will still be here.

Masturbation is normal, not bad. Just don’t get carried away. I’m 44 and have been masturbating to porn since I was 16. I can last during sex, and still get rock hard erections. That being said… I also run half marathons and mountain bike, so fitness might have something to do with it.

The key is that I don’t go overboard.

I know for a fact that my lasting ability in bed was a skill that I trained for years by edging before ever losing my virginity.

Edging has helped me increase how long I can last and has made another big step forward for me.

Stick with the detox. I fell off the wagon after 5 months and it wrecked my performance for about two weeks after because of the brain chemistry shift

It’s not a wagon you are supposed to “stay on” per se. After having sex it will always end you’re streak. I plan to end my 4 month streak with a prostitute next month.

Good idea, I’m about two weeks in right now. Honestly haven’t had the urge to look at porn really, just been kinda drowsy and tired throughout the days and my dick still feels pretty lifeless. Gonna stay the course and see if things improve though :)

I’ve never been what I would consider “addicted” to masturbation, 5-6 times a week is about the highest frequency I’ve ever had (same goes for looking at porn). And for the most part, I’ve been able to last a decent amount of time during sex and get solid erections. I’m in pretty great shape fitness wise so I can’t imagine that being my issue. I’ve just noticed that the last few weeks my erections had been seeming weaker and weaker when I was masturbating to porn and I was coming faster and faster. I know “moderation is key” but I feel like my brain/body need some time to reset before I ever jump back into masturbating and/or looking at porn.

I think edging is a useful tool, the problem (as I mentioned in the OP) is I’ve been having a hard time getting an erection without looking at porn. I’ve never had an issue getting an erection when I’m actually with a girl, but I’d like to get to a point where I can actually get erect without porn or any sort of visual aids. As hame0812 mentioned, I imagine this requires some considerable time of the brain “detoxing”.

Yeah was a good 2-3 months for me. Other than as a teenager I was never able to get arouses by myself or via imagination. With a woman, was fine. Been like that Ever since I started watching porn at the end of my teens I can see it has changed me that way.
2-3 months into the detox I was able to cum without porn and just my imagination. I had that ‘lifeless’ feeling when on my own though. I just followed the advice here, rode it out and got back to being able to do without it. Until I slipped back. Things are coming back round again though. It’s different for different people but I don’t respond well to the immediate dopamine dump from the graphic visualisation.
