IR lamps

What specs should I have for a IR lamp suitable for PE? Watts etc?

I found this 100W complete to stand on table:
and a Philips bulb 150W and 250W: Värmelampa BR125 IR E27 - Elbutik.se

There’s also this Philips thing: InfraCare infrared lamp HP3643/01 | Philips

And probably 1000 alternatives on Ebay such as
and a Philips

Which one is good for PE?

PE start Aug 25, 2013: BPEL 6.7" x EG 4.7" and BPFSL 7".

Paused between Dec 2013 and Dec 2014 due to injury. Careful with those rice socks!

Goal 7" x 5". Ideal is 8" x 6" but let's not even dream about that yet...!

I own the first one and it works great. Make sure to check different amazon websites to find the cheapest one, I bought it from the german one.
All of the three should be fine, mine was also furnished with a bulb by phillips.
You need 150W , a stable base, and the possibility to tip up or down the lamp (also they should all do it). From what I understood phillips’ bulb is quality.

Edit: One of the three lamps I mentioned found on the german site http://www.amaz … /dp/B000W44Z0U/

Thank you Walter5169. Good tip about checking other amazon websites!

I will probably get yours or the philips. Why do you think 150W is the best? Would 100W be too weak and 200W too hot, you mean?

Did you find any that are floor standing, perchance?

Let’s heat up that snake! *smile*

What do you mean by floor standing? You can use them anywhere , floor, carpet, wood desk, plastic desk, oven, fridge, the palm of your hand and so on and so forth.

They are small.

150 W is best in terms of heat.

I’m not sure bulb used for reptiles are always infrared .

I really recommend you to pick one of the two you mentioned, the one I linked to (german website) is 22 euros (without shipping fees) and I had a Phillips bulb into it.

.

Floor standing, I meant something like this:
where the bulb is Philips 250W. It would have some advantages, but it would also be harder to store away.

I know you said 150W was the perfect watt, but perhaps it also has to do with distance if the light spreads.
Any comments on these two?

Buy the 300 w one when you reach 20 inches x 15 inches .
They would all work but are more expensive, and will heat an area too wide to be of interest.
Perhaps the 200 W one would be great depending on how far you are from the lamp, let’s see what fg thinks.

So I thought about it again, and imo more watts don’t necessarily mean more heat . Your 200 w lamp is an halogen ir lamp , with some improved stuff over the other one. As a halogen lamp it needs more watts to function. The recommendations regarding safe distance from both lamps are the same, so the 200 w lamp won’t produce more heat .

Besides I saw both of these lamp can only tip up to 40 degrees, mine can also tip down.

I hope that makes sense.

When is it useful to tip down?

That Philips says “Lifetime of lamps: 500 hour(s)”. That’s not much at all. And they claim it’s not possible to change the bulb yourself. Doh. It might not be true I suppose.

If you use the lamp I advised it will be (very) close to the price of a phillips bulb. If you want to use it on a desk or table, in order to heat the penis from above, you’ll need to tip it downwards.

Sorry, the Philips I refered to now was the more expensive one with halogen. On the cheap Philips the bulb can more easily be exchanged.

I thought you meant tipping it all the way down (90 degs).

I found a local e-shop where I can get the Beurer 150W (with Philips bulb) for €43 including postage. Amazon.de wants €36 incl postage for the Philips HP3616/01 but can’t send until 3-5 weeks from now, which is a bit of a turnoff. I’ll think about this for a while.

Meanwhile, onto next questions:

First, is IR-lamp much better than using a hair-drier. I tried that for the first time today. It was good. The one I used is not too noisy, it’s brand new and good quality, with ionization (a gift for my GF). The level 2 heat is good and level 3 too hot, I suppose 2.5 would be perfect but hey.

Second, can you tell details of how to optimally use an IR-lamp with a PE-routine? Heat 10 mins for warmup, or how long time? Do you keep heating during stretch/jelq/etc or do you turn it off then? Do you still do warmdown as well, and how long time?

Third… For all the other IR-lamp users out there, do you agree with all that we have said so far?

The one I linked to in my first post (Efbe-schott , german amazon) was cheaper. It’s up to you.

Ir light penetrate deeper , so yes it is better than your hairdryer.

This will be up to you. Try and decide.

Yes, perhaps you live in a country to which they send at low cost, but for some strange reason IR-sellers want €15-20 to send here. Anyway some €10 up or down, I’ll survive. :)

Thanks! Can you tell a bit about routine with the lamp?

Try it and see what you like, I often use it throughout my routine, especially during squeezes / clamping.

I’m sure it’s pretty nice to use it while you do tunica stretches.

Wear white cloth to avoid overheating your whole body (balls etc..).

I just found this thread: So I bought an Infrared lamp

Thanks Walter.
