Hello everyone,

It was just a few weeks ago that I stumbled onto a web page that mentioned jelqing and thought to myself, ‘there is no way this works. There’s no way possible that something so simple can make my penis longer/thicker.” But then I stumbled onto Thunder’s Place and it seems that quite a few people have benefited from PE. I’m amazed that there is so much information here. Could all of this really be true? I’m a skeptic by nature but there seems to be a lot of affirmation here.

I’ve never been content with the size of my penis. It probably shouldn’t bother me as much as it does, but hey it’s been my best friend for a long as I can remember and quite frankly the first thing people look at when I’m naked in the showers at the gym the bedroom. Though no one has complained or pointed and laughed I’d feel a lot better if my penis were larger.

I’m eager to get started with the newbie routing and already begun experimenting with jelqing. First let me say that dry jelqing is the most painful thing that I have ever subjected my penis to. After 10 jelqs it felt like I was going to pull the skin right off of my penis. Is there any greater benefit from doing dry jelqs rather than wet jelqs? Also with wet jelqs, I understand that while doing the movement pressure is extended down the shaft to the head for the purpose of engorgement. Should I also be pulling (forcefully stretching) the penis away from the body while jelqing? I’ve begun doing this but I’m not sure if this is supposed to be part of the exercise? I don’t recall reading any specific instruction on this in the newbie routine posts.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

PE should never be painful. Keep reading as much as you can and start slow and easy.

Welcome! Jelqing takes some time and practice to really get right. I’ve heard some people say that dry jelqing is better for girth but, honestly, I can’t stand dry jelqing and think that it probably only works well for un-cut men. So, get yourself some olive oil (or your lube of choice) and wet jelq away.

On to how to jelq. There are seemingly an infinite number of variations on the jelq and everyone develops their own favorites and their own techniques, so this is only my perspective. If I’m jelqing for length then I will do low erection jelqs (say ~30% erect) and I will pull and complete the stroke in a stretch. If I’m jelqing for girth, then I will do high erection jelqs (say ~90% erect) and focus more on pressure then on pulling. These type of high erection jelqs are NOT for newbies — keep your jelqs below 70 or 80% erect. For general purpose jelqing, which is probably most appropriate for beginners, I recommend working in the 50-70% erection range with moderate pressure and a slight pulling/stretching element. Whatever you do, WARM UP IS KEY!!!

My advice is refine your technique through trial and error and your goal should be expansion. The first sign of expansion is when you start seeing raised bumps on your head while jelqing — this is not expansion, but it means you’re getting close (it’s like when you’re boiling water and you start to see a few little bubbles). Real expansion is when your head becomes huge, firm and shiny. Whatever you’re doing when you get this, that’s what works for you. You’ll know it when you get it right and it will become mindless and easy with practice, but it takes most people some time to really get right.

Go slow and listen to your PIs so that you don’t hurt yourself. Good luck!

Allnighter I’ve been reading through the forums as often as possible. There is so much information here it’s often difficult to stay with on theme but I’d doing my best and learning something new in each and every thread.

Roosterstretch, your explanation makes things much clearer. Is it possible to jelq for length and girth in the same session or should they be done in separate dedicated sessions?

General purpose jelqing will work for both length and girth.
