Interesting Observation wrt "turtling"

Interesting Observation wrt "turtling"

Hi! :)

So, I’ve been PE-ing for about 1.5 months now and am already seeing results. I’ve got a very athletic background (been training under iron since I was a kid, played high level ice hockey since I was a kid, etc.) and am very keyed into nutrition, hormones, and maintaining my own wellness and preventing/repairing injuries, etc.

One of the things I’ve discovered over the years is the importance of myofascial trigger points - tender little points in the facia that can wreak all kinds of havoc by effective shortening/tightening the fascia. Often a knee “injury” has turned out, for example, to be a trigger point - which, when very briefly massaged, it relaxes the fascia and the knee pain goes away (it’s more complicated but just for brevity).

So, I don’t generally turtle; sometimes if I slightly over do stretching I’ll find myself turtling a bit. So, I felt around and have found a painful little bundle about 2.5 inches directly up from the dorsal side of my penis - I haven’t really looked into it, but I can say for a fact - at least wrt me - that when I massage that little point, my penis immediately un-turtles.

I may look more into this; just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, can confirm this, or has looked into it further?

Just to be clear: the trigger point appears to be IN my lower abdominal wall, about 2.5 inches from where the dorsal/top side of the penis attaches.

Sorry to quote myself lol.

Sounds like a “knot” in one of the penile suspensory muscles. Gentle massaging and stretching is usually helpful.

Indeed, that’s another way of describing it - “knot” more or less = “trigger point”.

My point being: this might be why many people chronically turtle (I don’t) - just thought it might be of some help: a person who chronically turtles might try feeling above the penis for trigger points.

This is an interesting idea. Would you say the “knots” are typically painful? I’ll have to check next time I’m turtling extra hard, but for the most part I haven’t noticed any painful areas. Will have to check the lower abdominal wall though.

Yes, painful but not extremely painful or anything. Typical triggerpoint/knot pain. Try it and let me know.

Hmm okay I had some turtling issues last night, but couldn’t find any painful areas. I’m assuming lower abdomen means around halfway between the belly button and the penis?

I know in the past I’ve had some pain attempting to measure BPEL by sticking a ruler in that area (NOT using a ton of pressure— to rule out the obvious possible reason for this).
