Hello all,

I’m about 6 months in to hanging everyday 3x20mins or sometimes 4x20mins, no real gains but just finding my feet with wrapping, warming up properly, etc. However, 4 days ago I wanted to stretch myself and did may be 3 x 20 and another 3 x 15 in the afternoon. Everything felt fine when I went to bed, but I woke up with my foreskin at the base of my penis swollen- very scary!!

I did some research on here and it seems to be clogged lymph vessels, so I’m going to hold of for a month or so. The swelling has now gone down, though it has left some annoying excess skin.

Anyway, what I’m more frightened about is that, my EQ is non-existent, my flaccid penis is tiny, and every erection since has been half an inch less than it was before!! Its gone from 5 1/2 to 5 inches at a push!

As I would quite like that half inch back, has anyone got any advice?

Will my EQ and my size return to normal?

As if so how long should I rest for? Should I do any exercises to help it?

How long was it between your last hanging set and going to bed? When you say “I woke up with my foreskin at the base of my penis swollen” do you mean the foreskin (which covers the glans/head of the penis) or do you mean the shaft skin at the base (i.e. next to your pubis/body) and did you wake up during the night after say a couple of hours, or in the morning with the swelling?

Clogged lymph vessels tend to have a hard feel, like a string of pearls, whereas lymph swelling (what we often call a doughnut) is a little like a balloon filled with fluid around the shaft. From the mention of annoying excess skin it sounds like the latter.

Without the answers to the above questions, I’m going to make some educated guesses. Your EQ is non-existent because you have had a scare - it happens to almost everyone the first time they get an ‘injury’. The tiny flaccid is a common result of stress/cortisol from getting an injury too. The combination of the tissues being ‘tighter’ from stress but also from the tissues repairing themselves after over-training will be restricting your erect length a little.

If it was just a doughnut leaving your penis alone for a couple of days will probably be enough for everything to return to normal, but assuming it does, give it an extra couple of days off to be sure. Hopefully that’s all it is.

If it was a ‘proper’ blocked lymph vessel you will need to get onto a regimen ASAP of heating and gently squeezing/massaging the offending vessel (from as close to your body as you can feel the lowest blocked valve) and work your way gently upwards toward the end of your penis from there. Check the injury threads for more info on that.

They will come back. You overworked, there could also be something wrong with your hanging technique. What are you using?

Just rest is my opinion, maybe a very gentle flaccid jelq under warm water, more a massage than anything else. How long? When you are completely recovered, wait another two weeks.
