In Pursuit of the Perfect Jelq (a few questions)

In Pursuit of the Perfect Jelq (a few questions)

A) What is the proper engorgement level when jelqing? I always start off flaccid jelqing, but after about 40 jelqs are so it can get pretty big, thick, and hard. In fact it’s about as big as it gets from clamping, but harder. Is this what I’m supposed to be doing? Should I keep jelqing at this point, or wait till it gets flaccid again. I’m wary of erect jelqing because I know how taxing of an exercise it can be. Would this be considered erect jelqing, or just the proper level of engorgement?

B) When jelqing, is it better to apply more pressure to the sides of the penis, or the top and bottom? For me it seems I get better expansion going out the sides then I do from top to bottom.

C) How much force should be applied? (or, How much force do you apply? How has that worked for you?)

D) Generally, why is it that we see growth from jelqing? Is it because it improves blood flow and gives you harder/bigger erections? Is it because you’re essentially pushing blood into the penis, temporarily expanding the size of the penis, and then these temporary changed eventually become permanent? Anyone? I’d like to hear a theory on this.

A) Erect jelqing is never a good idea, your dick should ideally be in a semi-hard state. Experienced fellows can also go to about 80% if they know how to properly ride the wave at that level (repetition frequency & speed, exerted pressure). It’s really a matter of well-learned intuition and acquired knowledge about how your unit reacts and what it can take. Not for newbies.

B) The corpora cavernosa where the blood is trapped during an erection are situated on the sides. On the underside, you have the corpus spongiosum the task of which is to prevent the urethra from closing during an erection - it does not contribute to erection volume. So bottom line is, pressure should be directed towards the CC in order to enlarge you storage tanks.

C) You’d have to experiment yourself. In general: pain is bad. Anything that makes you feel uncomfortable during your workout is the wrong approach. A good rule of thumb is: your pressure is about right if you can feel the blood being moved upwards in your CC while performing one repetition.

D) A little bit of the first and mainly the second. Proper PE should improve your erection quality which is of course an important parameter for your best possible erect size (also see sparkyx's thread on physiological indicators, PIs). However, the currently accepted theory is that the most part of the growth resulting from jelqing is due to the mechanical stress exerted on the walls of the CC by the blood trapped inside, hence stretching them permanently if done consistently, hence enlarging their volume. Remember that pathological conditions like priapism (an erection that never subsides, painfull!) are known to permanently enlarge the penis if left untreated for too long! I also remember that there used to be some trials with regard to “chemical PE”, where erection-inducing drugs would be injected into the penis so as to evoke a state of temporary priapism in order to make use of that dialation effect for growth. In principle, that’s what you’re trying to imitate by manual pressure when doing your jelqs.

Et... la nuit se continue. C\'est vrai. Elle est complètement dechirée - ma tête.

A) Yeah, I’m not a fan of erect jelqing. But what I was describing, would you consider that Erect Jelqing or not? I mean, I did start from a more flaccid state and then work my way up to a much bigger state. I’m just not sure how much of that was due to engorgement. Or do you think my dick should just constantly be in a “semi-hard state” and if I go over that level, just stop and wait for my engorged or erect state to subside?

B) “So bottom line is, pressure should be directed towards the CC in order to enlarge you storage tanks.” So should I be applying more pressure to the sides? Or more pressure on the top and bottom of my penis to push the blood outwards to target the sides?

Thanks for your response.

I really hate that Jelqing 101 thread. I’ve read it a hundred times. Totally uninformative. Needs to be updated imo.

From the second thread, this seemed intriguing:

"Imagine dipping a smooth stick in runny honey. Imagine using your jelqing finger and thumb to squeegee the honey off the stick. Transfer feeling to penis. Keep trying to imagine that as you jelq. - Firegoat"

I’ll try to keep that in mind during my next jelqing session. Thanks.

I really only feel as if my jelqs are effective if the pressure is directed along the sides. It only seems logical too considering that when one is applying the pressure along the top and bottom, the pressure is directed against the dorsal nerve (doesn’t sound safe) and the corpus spongiosum, which contributes very little to erection volume.
