Does anyone know if ED (erectile dysfunction) caused by depression is permanent?

I havnt been having morning erections for the past couple days and havnt had an erection through out the day as well. I’ve been depressed due to my small size (4x4). I’ve tried to get it up but it won’t. I’m getting scared. I’m only 19! Shiiit. I want to PE but I can’t even get it up. Someone help!

Hey buddy, that sort of thing happens to us all at times. First up, try to not worry about it — that’ll only make it worse. As for night-time woodies, sometimes they occur and we’re not aware of them — we don’t always wake up. The problem might just pass. One way to check this out is to tape a piece of paper around your dick before you go to bed. It’ll tear if you get an erection, but should stay in-tact if not.

If it does not pass, though, say after a week or so, I’d go to the doctor and ask him to check you out. Please don’t worry about this sort of physical either — again, we all have to do it at times, especially as we get older. Lots of things can cause ED, three very common things are diabetes (are you overweight), stress (you say you’ve got depression), and low testosterone levels.

Whatever you do, please keep talking about it here. Lots of us have had similar problems over the years and would be happy to share with you where we’ve been and what we did about it. And, please remember, ED hits nearly all of us for a day, week or even month at times — it’s not the end of the world and can be resolved.

Thanks RickM. I appreciate your support. I’m almost positive it’s due to depression. Everything was all rock hard before then. I’m not overweight.I’m actually really skinny and tall.

After my first time I tried PE (about three weeks ago) my erection was super hard in the morning when I woke up. I was surprised it was so hard. I thought to myself “was it the PE that did this?” or is it just all in my mind. Anyway I tried to continue but somehow depression got back in and then I stopped PEing. I tried again recently but I couldn’t keep a 50-80% erection as I jelqed. I got frustrated so I forced an ejaculation. My guy has been down ever since.

I try to stimulate it but it doesnt want to get completely hard. Since I’m small my dick at it’s hardest stands nearly straight up.and now it doesnt even want to rise.

Ill try not to worry. I understand that PE can and usually is a long process, but as a human I want results now. Any other info or support would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Sounds to me like your depression is the culprit and you need to treat that. Again, I’d see a doctor and not just ignore it. Remember, your brain is your biggest sex organ. If it’s not right (depression), quite likely Charlie won’t perform for you until you get it fixed.

It could be you just worked too hard on it and it is responding negatively.

Leave it alone for a few days and it should recover. Then take it easy.

PE is like body building it does take a while to get going. But you should get rewards in good time.

First I hope you didn’t over do it PEing. It’s easy to get excited when there’s results and typically we think more is better. Not necessarily so.. Someone on here wisely said that we are trying to encourage growth not force it.

Speaking for myself, my ex-wife pushed me to cooperate with her about getting a separation awhile ago. Let me tell you I was so down I couldn’t even think about sex. The thought of getting it up was even tiring.So I would have to agree.

I am only 20 years old yet suffer from ED, sometimes due to depression and sometimes due to performance anxiety. I’ve had to deal with it a lot, and I know exactly how to deal with it. You need to GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE! The absolute worst thing you can do is spend your days on your computer, researching things about ED and worrying yourself to death and feeling sorry for yourself. Completely forget about your penis, and go do something. Go work on your hobbies, lift weights, do homework, hang out with friends, anything but reading on the internet and worrying all day.

I can tell you that I understand your issue around this perfectly, being pretty small myself I know this shit hit us hard, really hard.
As others are telling you this ED won’t be permanent, you’ll recover, but as with most of depressions and anxiety, work is needed to overcome this.
Alex553 got some good pointers there - try to enjoy life and stay of ED related sites, however I don’t agree upon forgetting completely about your unit, you’ll eventually address this situation if you want change. Look at this fantastic site, look how many who’ve gained over time - starting small or big.

I think of my small unit everyday, it hurts, but also motivation to plunge myself deeper into the vast universe of PE, be it new techniques or reading vets stories.

I too have dealt with sexual performance anxiety in the past, and this advice is very good. The more you think about it, and over analyze it, the more self-conscious you will become and the worse the problem gets. The mind is a very powerful tool, and it can be your best friend or your worst enemy, it all depends on how you use it. Thinking positively as often as you can, can completely change your life for the better. And remember, worrying is like a rocking chair, it will give you something to do, but it wont get you anywhere.

My guy has jumped back up and it’s good as new. Iwas relieved to say the least. For now the depression is gone and I hope I don’t have a relapse. Severe depression is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I find it to be worse than physical pain. It’s something that can greatly affect you personal life in an extremely harmful way. All the below average guys can relate with the insecurities that I go through. It’s definitely hard to cope with but I am positive about the future (as of now).

Manda- haha yeah lets join forces. Keep each other updated and whatever on progress and shit.

Iwish6- the 6 is the average inches I wish to have.
