I had my first lig pop!

Wow, that was scary. Today is a break day and I decided to do a random straight-down stretch. While I was stretching I decided to pull down a little bit harder and… POP!! Frankly it scared the crap out of me, but after reading other threads about it, I guess I will be fine. :)

Maybe I will gain a tiny bit?

Nothing to worry about. On the other hand, there isn’t anything that could suggest that lig-pops and gains are related.

The title of this thread reminded me of a thread I seen on a body building forum, it was titled

“My first time throwing up!” or something along those lines. Absolutely hilarious.

Started 4/20/08 BPEL 7.0 EG 5.5

Current 9/08 7 3/8 BPEL X 5.75 MSEG

Was that all there was to your lig pop, “pop”? Was there any pain, internal movement, external change, or other sensation?

Scared the fuck out of you I bet ;)

When I stretch I shoot for a pop. I have no pain.

I’ve only ever had one pop— scared the fuck out of me even though I immediately knew what it was— mildly uncomfortable— won’t look to repeat.

Well what exactly is a lig pop? I mean what happens to make it do that?

I remember my first pop.I kind of made a loud scared noise when it happen and my girlfriend knocked on the door asking what’s wrong. I simply replied, “I think I pulled something.” She never asked me what I pulled.

Nothing to worry about. Just make sure you are WARMED up before stretching.

God I don’t stretch that hard, I like my penis I’m not trying to detach it from my body!

If you’ve ever watched the Canadian show “Talk Sex with Sue Johansen”, you might have heard her discuss this with a caller. It’s the same thing that happens with your knuckles. When you stretch the ligs, you cause a negative pressure (vacuum) that causes the fluid in them to vaporize which gives you the pop. It’s no more dangerous than popping your knuckles and contrary to earlier belief, knuckle popping isn’t harmful unless it’s painful.
