I get a firm flaccid when I PE.

I started PE for the first time back in May of this year. I gained about .25 in in girth but very little length over the course of 3 months. After a while I noticed that I had a firm, not hard but firm, flaccid penis most of the time. After searching and reading on this site I decided to take a break until my penis was back to normal. My penis seemed fine after only a few weeks of rest but I decided that a 6 week break would be better to to be safe. After my break, I resumed my PE exercises but unfortunately I am firm when flaccid once again. My routine is basically the newbie routine with a bit more stretching since I am focusing on length. I always warm up and warm down to prevent injury, in fact, I will sometimes take as long as 30 minutes to warm up and down.

So here are my questions. What are the negative effects of a firm flaccid? How can I avoid getting a firm flaccid beside what I am already doing?

It is likely that you are using too much pressure and effort when doing the exercises. Take another break and ease off.

Althought the penis can remain slightly firm after a session it should normalize after a day or two. But longer than that usually means you are overtraining

Ease off on the grip and pull, and see if that works.

I have actually made a very conscious effort not to overtrain or to squeeze too hard. In fact I have barely been squeezing at all just since I am trying to ease myself back into it. All of my jelqs have been very light and I never do more than 50 in a session. Instead I have really been focusing on my stretching. You can see why I am so frustrated since I am trying to be very careful but i am still having problems.

You are overtraining. It might be from the jelqing, it might be from the stretching, maybe something else. But everyone around here knows that a “firm flaccid penis”, which is how everyone describes the problem, is a bad sign. What you need to do is lay off the PE, and just generally massage your unit. Maybe use some heat. Next time when you start back, take it easy. Plain and simple!

I could be wrong but I’m pretty sure you are describing the normal effects of jelqing. Girth increase, skin gets tougher and so on. I started PE back in March of this year my flaccid is way different now from when I started.

Well, Stretching can be just as problematical as jelqing,

I can only suggest that you cut down on the number of jelqs to 25. and halve whatever you do in stretching. It just may be that your penis is very sensitive, and you need to treat it more gently than other guys. And it will, perhaps, take longer to condition it.

Ok. So I’ll take another break. I waited 6 weeks the first time, is this to long, about right, not long enough? I can’t stress how light I am taking it. I feel like I’m barely working my penis at all. Its verrrrry frustrating.

A firm flaccid, especially that “corded” feeling is merely the smooth muscle contracting in response to stress. This will also result in some level of turtling.

I get it too, its not bad in of itself, it depends on how long it lasts and your EQ level. If your EQ remains high, then don’t worry about it.

If it lasts all day, your EQ drops and you hit it again before you get the SRR or rebound heavy flaccid (when the smooth muscle finally relaxes more than normal and you get that heavier longer flaccid) then you either should consider less force on the stretches or try a one on and one off schedule.

You don’t need a six week break unless you are putting your dick under your tires and running it over. If you never see a SRR (super relaxation response) after PE where you get a heavier flaccid, then consider a longer workout at modest force levels. Then wait until you see a SRR. Once you get that SRR, and it starts to go back to normal, that’s a good time to do another workout.

If you are barely stressing your dick one or two days off should be fine. Ideally, you should start to see a big increase of EQ when you start to PE. This then helps you understand when you are doing too much, you will see it start to drop again. At that point you can either cut down or take a day or two off, during which you will see EQ rebound. EQ then becomes a great indicator of how much stress you are putting your dick through.

If you haven’t already, read my PI and EQ threads linked at the bottom. Its sounds like you are flying blind at this point.

Thanks for the great post. Flying blind … that’s exactly how I feel. I will read your PI thread and hopefully that will give me some ideas on how to listen to my dick. My EQ at this point is great so I am not so much worried about that. I am more concerned with hindering my ability to get bigger.

Read the EQ thread too, if you haven’t.

Six weeks break is probably more than you need. Try taking 1-2 weeks off, but massage your unit and use heat of some sort thoughout the break. When you start back, don’t go at the exercises so vigorously. That is what’s causing the rigid flaccid penis. What you want is a big spongey flaccid penis, which is opposite a small firm one. I consider the rigid flaccid penis a concretely negative PI- it means you’re doing something wrong.

It seems that I also have a firm flaccid right now. I always thought that was normal but now I’m a little concerned. When I start my warm up (hot water in shower) my flaccid hardens a little bit. Then, when I stretch, my flaccid is slightly hard. Could I be over training? My PE schedule is Monday, Tuesday ON. Wednesday OFF. Thursday, Friday ON. Saturday and Sunday OFF. Right now I’m doing 50 second stretches in each direction and a total of 200 jelqs per session. I’ve been PE’ing on and off now for 3 years, but I recently took a year off due to lack of privacy. I started PE’ing again two months ago and I’m now doing the previously mentioned PE routine. Am I over training? Thoughts?

I’d appreciate this greatly.

Mine hangs larger and firmer (not hard) even during my off days.
Have continued enjoying great EQs, however this thread is one of the few that have not scared the living crap out of me regarding firm flaccids.
In fact, reading the majority of information out there about this issue (or non-issue) scares the crap out of my cock too! He goes from a larger, heavier and firmer flaccid into smaller and still firm veiny tortoise that’s trying to be a turtle! Negative effects cease as soon as I read up on other topics though!

The “corded” feeling is when you feel like a ring or a rope choking your thing a little near the middle of the shaft. It happens during some of the hard flaccid phases.

There’s nothing to be scared of, really, unless it lasts for too many days. I often get it during physical exertion, PE, sometimes masturbation, or just when I’m stressed. It’s just your penis’ response to stress, mental or physical, like in your case when you’re reading worrisome material. And it’s best to skip the workout day when you have too much of it because it can also be the result of overtraining.
