Yeah, so that was my lame introduction, haha. Let me try a more professional one.

For the moment, I’ll go by my screen name Polcon. I’m new to Thunder’s Place, but not to message boards. Like so many others, I’ve been lurking around, waiting for the chance to register. Now that I’m in, I’m thrilled. It’s like I breached Eden. I hope I’ll be able to fit in here and become part of the community.

Presently, my current stats aren’t spectacular (at least compared to some of the Goliaths around here, but I expect to change that!):
BPEL = 6.0”
EG = 5.0”

Even before reading all the excellent tips from the vets here at Thunder’s, I’ve always been a firm believer in the importance of consistency. It’s probably one of the most essential lessons in life. Therefore, I am completely committed to continuing my PE until I see gains, whether it takes me three months or three years. I forget who it was, but someone here said that it ought to be made a habit, much like brushing one’s teeth. I agree wholeheartedly.

Having said that, I began my routine on April 1, 2005. I pretty much do the standard routine: warm up for about 5 minutes, stretch for about 5 - 10 minutes, jelq for about 30 minutes, followed by a warm-down for another 5 minutes. I do this routine once a day, five days a week (weekends off). I assume it’s a fairly decent routine, though of course I’m open to suggestions.

Annnnnd, as long as I’m spilling my guts, I have a question regarding “irregularities” (for lack of a better term) as a result of PE. Before I began jelqing, I tried using a pump. I never really liked the device, but I wanted to try it out for myself to see what it was like. Turns out it wasn’t for me, and, although I was always extra careful, I did notice the development of two extremely small, but firm bumps under the skin of my shaft. I’m almost positive they were the result of the pump, and I quit shortly thereafter. In any case, I picked up jelqing after dropping the pump. All last month, things went great. But during the first week of this month (May 2005), I noticed what is probably trapped fluid or something under the skin of my shaft around the area of one of those small bumps (the other has all but disappeared). Unless I actually apply pressure or squeeze that area, there is absolutely no pain; however, I’ve been a bit apprehensive about continuing to jelq as it seems that the build up of pressure (from jelqing) causes that small lump to become more swollen, bigger, and harder.

I’m not panicking, because it’s probably nothing incredibly serious. But at the same time, it is there and I don’t know what to do about it. The reason I’m mentioning it here is because I’m sure that some people here have had the same problem or have heard about it. Any ideas? Suggestions? If not, I’ll consult a medical source.

Finally, bearing in mind that I haven’t performed a legitimate jelqing routine for about 8 days, what sort of setback am I looking at? This isn’t enough to crush my spirits, but it is a bit frustrating as I would like to continue with my exercises.

I guess that’s enough rambling for now. Again, this is a great place and I look forward to sharing my success stories and hearing others.

As for the fluid build-up, look into the donut effect— it’s penile edema. It’s a common side-effect of PE, and lacks a great deal of attention, or at least understanding, which scares me, but oh well. That’s life.

Matutinal: I think it may be a penile lymphatic vessel or a thrombosed vein, according to the Injuries section and other sources I checked. In any case, I’m taking vitamin E and I guess I’ll lay off the PE for a bit, which is somewhat of a bummer. I really enjoy performing the exercises and I’m quite eager to keep on track. But better safe than sorry, right? Thanks for the donut effect notice, though. I will keep it in mind.

welcome! you sound really eager which is awesome, i only joined a couple of weeks ago. i hope you dont lose your enthusiasm.. i spend 1 hour in the shower doing my routines (which is prolly 45 minutes of workouts and 15 minutes of general showering) and well its aplus theres hot water there for warmups as it means better gains and less injuries but i find myself seriously exhausted by the heat of the showers and it feels like im in a rainforest or something.. oh well! you will enjoy a month of 2 of gains, i know i am, i wish you luck, your routine is very similiar to mine.. try to aim for 200-400 3 second wet jelqs, i believe your stretching time is pretty sufficient. look forward to any updates you have in a months time. :-)

Haha, yeah those showers quickly become saunas after so many minutes. I pretty much just use a lubricant for mine.

I’d gotten up to 300 wet jelqs per day, which is why I’m a bit anxious about getting through this thrombosed vein/whatever-it-is problem, so that I can restart my routine. I’m hoping that any progress I made won’t be altogether lost.

I was looking at your change in stats. Awesome. I’ll be sure to report any gains I make.

Sorry to hear about the vein problem, but when it’s cleared up you’ll find that the forum will keep you enthused to get going again. My vice was inconsistency but since joining (2 weeks ago) I’ve been jelqing like a bastard..
