I know the feeling of being depressed, its not fun but you can beat it. For me the solution came relatively recently by, as mentioned above, getting into shape. There are a million different ideals and exercise programs out there and we all respond to different things. The plan that follows is what has worked for me:I recommend you commit to 90 days of diet, exercise, and PE. At the end of 90 days evaluate your results and adjust as necessary.
I use a ketogenic diet with 65% of my calories coming from fat, 30+% from protein and less than 5% from carbs. To make this easy each gram of fat has 9 calories, each gram of protein has 4 and each gram of carbs has 4. I’m also eating at a caloric deficit to burn fat. My maintenance calories are around 2500 a day and I’m restricting intake to around 1800. Each lb of fat your body has can provide around 30-31 calories per day so it is actually possible to gain muscle and lose fat at the same time if you put in the work. I am lifting 4 days a week and doing cardio the other 3. Additionally I have found that intermittent fasting helps me tremendously, and as such I only eat between noon and 7pm each day. This isn’t for everyone but it has worked well for me.
