How hard should you pull when you’re stretching?

I’ve been stretching for a while and I’ve tried pulling harder for the past couple of sessions and I’m feeling resistance like I’m giving my arms a workout. Is that too much force or was I going too light before?

Thank you dongalong. That is a very helpful way to quantify how much a guy is pulling on his unit. I didn’t want to do too little but I certainly don’t want to hurt myself permanently either.

Is a slight tingeing sensation normal when you stretch in the ligaments. Kind of feels warm but not painful.

You should always feel relaxed when you pull. If your breath is altered while you are doing manual stretches, you are pulling too much. It could be interesting for you to read this thread:
