So I’ve searched around, but couldn’t seem to find it. Pardon me if it’s out there.

As the title says, I’m currently doing a newbie routine.

Warmup with dishcloth
1 min x 4 manual stretches. 1 left, right up and down.
200 dry jelqs
(Am I doing it right btw?)

So I started to wonder how hard my penis should be when stretching? And how hard should one pull it?
Mine is usually 30-40%, but starts to shrink when I stretch. I pull quite hard IMO. The thing that keeps me from pulling harder is the skin beneath the root, feels like its tearing.

As flaccid as possible.

Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

I concur with the flaccid as possible. It seems like my longest stretch days come from zero percent erection. A few times I’ve pulled so hard that a heard and felt a little pop. Almost like cracking a knuckle type of pop. It didn’t hurt, but I noticed my EQ worsened for about a week.

Yes as flaccid as possible.

For how hard, the best I can describe it is to only pull as hard as necessary to reach your maximum bpfsl. No need to pull any harder than that as it can lead to toughening of the tissues which can make gains harder to come by over time.

Also ease and relax into each stretch. You don’t want to give your penis any reason to activate its defenses and increase the chances of turtling which is not what you want at all.
