Hi folks,

In the begin (until last week) I thought that “discolouring” was like that your dick gets a bit of a suntan all over, was I wrong!! I have seen some photo’s here, with a spot as big as more then a square inch (4cm2), horrible, I don’t want that to happen to me, (my girlfriend will kill me! And leave me!),

So my question is, how or why does this happen, and do many get this or is it rare?

Check that for real discolouration. Unfortunately it is a risk from PE, and there are exercises which can influence this more than others. Also it appears that some people suffer from discolouration more than others also. As for how it happens, I’m unsure about the real reason personally. Maybe one of the mods can help you out there.
Yes I also get mild discolouration, but its not really that extreme, and it doesn’t appear patchy.

Search the forums for information on how to remove it, or prevent it. I know a very thorough warm up and warm down, will work wonders for preventing discolouration.

This is not entirely accurate. As a matter of fact, when you exercise so hard as to cause injury or trauma, not only do you not gain, you can cause injury retraction and erection loss.

With PE, it is critical to find your own balance between stimulating expansion without crossing over the injury line and discoloration is an injury.

Maybe it doesn’t seem right, but if your PE routine feels good, you are probably doing it right. If is causes discomfort or discoloration, you are doing it wrong.

I started out a long time ago going at it hard and causing discomfort and discoloration and while I got temporary enlargement, it was not permanent. So, I finally learned how to back off. You still don’t get it. You can actually get the largest by not crossing the discoloration border. You can go up to the border, but don’t cross. The secret is in finding where your border is and that takes practice.

Personally , I get it , gprent , thank you . I do not have an issue with discoloration , but many here do . I agree with Kesman , that some are more prone to having problems of this sort than others . I also agree with you , in that one needs find a comfortable level of intensity for P.E. , based on their own personal physiology . Many people , in P.E. , and many other areas , like body building , weight loss , etc… , fall into the trap that more is better , and try and take short cuts that often result in pain , suffering , injury , and disappointment . I enjoy long warm ups and warm downs , and use essential oils , and the like , and never over do it .

One thing I’m confused about…

I thought discolouration was internal, after all it’s basically just bruising, right? Yet, the first few pictures that ModestoMan posted in the ‘Discoloration Pics’ thread the discolouration of the skin looks external, as though it’s been burnt. It sort of looks, crispy if you will. The same you get when you overcook meat etc.

Now, in the pictures aristocane posted of his discolouration it looks different than what ModestoMan posted. Especially in the 3rd & 4th picture, it actually looks internal which I thought it was supposed to be?

Maybe it’s just the lighting I don’t know.

Does pumping exacerbate discoloration like manual jelqing does? I’ve noticed a bit of discolor on my shaft from the friction of jelqing but trying to keep it in check with good long warm-ups/downs.

gprent, in your experience what is the discolortion factor/potential associated with pumping?
