The tools that I use for my “routines” include Hanging, Jelqing, Stretching and the application of an ADS..

Every time that I try to get in the grove of a “routine” … my life throws a breaking ball and I have to make an adjustment. I think that that is OK, as long as I am consistently doing “something”

If I had my preference I would concentrate more time on Hanging … but during those time periods when I don’t have the privacy to hang, I do my best to fill in the lost “hang time” with larger amounts time Jelqing and stretching.

The one thing that I have been fairly constant about is the application of the ADS. I have a home made ADS based on a knee strap and some light bungie cords. I wear it about 3 hours a day give or take an hour.

A few days ago I started experimenting with the application of additional stress to the ADS. Specifically, I about doubled the strength of the ADS pull and I have been wearing it for an hour at a time and taking 10 minute breaks.
I can feel the strength of the pull … but I am not getting to the level of fatigue that I get from hanging. It is more like an uncomfortable feeling in the glans towards the end of each hour.
I have had to tinker with the wrap so that I could maintain circulation with the additional stress … but so far I can do it without any obvious issues.

My Question / Challenge: I searched on this and didn’t find anything specific. Has anyone tried it? Was it effective? What was your experience?

Even if you haven’t tried it, I would be interested to hear some thoughts on the practice of more significant levels of stress with an ADS

OK .. Sorry … I did a little more searching on the topic and saw that a few years back there was some discussion on the topic.

THe 3 threads that exist though seem to give contradictory conclusions.

Still interested in opinons and experiences

I don’t know what tensions you are talking about, but I have been using an extender at 5-6 pounds of tension for no more than an hour at a time (once a day, but sometimes twice, with a short break halfway through the hour) and had some pretty good results.

Maybe you can measure how far the band is being stretched while you use it, then after you remove it, hang some weight off it until it’s stretched to the same length, then you will have a better idea of what kind of stress levels you are working with.

SInce my ADS is “powered” by a bungie cord, I don’t really have a simple means of measuring the pressure.
My solution to increasing the pressure was to simply apply 2 bungie cords instead of 1. I fugured that that roughly doubled the strength.
I have been wearing it for 3 or 4 1-hour sessions a day for the past 4 days. i stop after an hour because that is when I start to feel a little uncomfortable and my glans is a little numb.
The discomfort goes away in about 30 seconds once I detatch and i am right as rain after a minute of BTB jelqing. I usually leave the wrap on.

I am not sure what I am looking for in terms of response … I guess I am just wondering if there qualitative difference between the low-tension for 4 - 6 hours and no breaks or high-tension for 3 - 4 hours with 10 minute breaks

Didn’t I just describe a simple way?

If you can measure how far the bungie cord is being stretched while you are using it, then remove it and hang some known weight off the bungie cord until it’s stretches to the same length.

The amount of weight it takes to stretch the cord to the same length is the amount of tension you are applying with the cord strapped to you.

Simple.

I know that doesn’t directly answer your question of whether it is better to use more weight shorter time, but I believe its best to know just what forces you are dealing with and it might help you reach a more informed conclusion.

Hi to all, I used ADS for six mounth utilizing an high tension, and I wore it about 3 hours a day…in my opinion is better to wear it with a low weight for long time…


Starting nov 2008: BPEL 15.5cm - EG 14 cm

Today: BPEL 18 cm - EG 15 cm

Goal: BPEL 20 cm - EG 16 cm

I agree martello low weight and long time are the secrets of success. I apply this theory with the extender, great gains…….. (9hours a day)


09/02/12: BPEL 16,5 - MSEG 13,5

Just an update. Since a week before I initiated this thread, I have been keeping a pretty high tension on my ADS.
It is clearly too early to gauge results, but one of the effects is undeniable … It is very difficult to keep it on for extended periods (i.e. more than 2 hours).
I have needed to take a 15 minute break 3 or 4 times a day … and this is very distracting when I am at work.

Earlier this week, I reduced the tension by about 30% or so and I was able to wear it comfortably for 4 hours at a time (with only a short break at lunch-time).

My conclusion is that my consistency will improve with a more comfortable tension … and this will trump any fractional imrpovement with highter tension
