Help a newbie w understanding difficult exercises

Hey all.. I see a lot of posts about methods beyond mere jelqing that seem responsible for many gains. Things like clamping and edging etc. Not all of these techniques are explained in the glossary. Futhermore it seems like certain tools are needed or effective (clamping devices etc). Can someone clear up for a newbie what exactly I should be doing (the safest exercises)? I want both length and girth but prob want length first.

You should start with jelqing first and then get conditioning before attempting more advanced exercises

BTW most of my gains came just by jelqing

Jelqing and stretches keep it newbie for you then you go look for clamping and hanging
