Heat
I’m not very good at the warm up thing. Jumping into the shower or a tub early in the morning is probably not going to work for me. I keep seeing comments about the importance of warming up. Also, someone (Forgive me! I can’t remember who.) has a signature that touts the importance of heat. I finally decided to give it a try. Somewhere, I saw something about using a heating pad. I keep a heating pad hooked up in my office (also the place I do my exercises) because I have a lot of joint pain due to arthritis and the heat helps. It occurred to me (duh!) that it’s sitting there ready to go. I might as well try using it prior to my exercises. Wow!
Let me just say that if you haven’t tried warming yourself up prior to your exercises you’re really making a mistake, especially if you’re doing a very stressful routine. I used the heating pad for 15 minutes prior to my exercise routine and it made a HUGE difference. Bottom line: warming up is really important!
