Heard a snap sound when hanging 20 lbs

Celestialhammer, I don’t know where you read “I read that when it hurts it should be growing after”. This is totally incorrect. You should never feel pain when doing any PE. As you read more, you will see that written very often.

OK, I’m sorry, but to me this guy is on the path to causing himself serious injury, I just felt I had to say something to try and reflect that.

Would anyone hang 20lbs just a month into any form of PE? Madness.

20 lbs is a ton of weight even if you have been hanging for months. Take good care of your unit champ, you only got one.

When I was 5 years old my mom told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down "happy." They told me I didn't understand the assignment, I told them they didn't understand life. ~John Lennon

I’ve occasionally heard a ‘pop’ or click sound when doing manual hand stretches. I’ve never been sure what to make of them because they have never been in anyway related to pain. I didn’t experience pain to say I’m over stretching, hence the pop/click sound..
And I’ve never found the actual sound to coincide with any pain.

Can anyone elaborate as to what the click/pop is all about?

You clearly haven’t read the forums because you have broke just about every piece of advice people give, if you are injured, I have zero sympathy for you because you have been so stupid.

Let us start again. Some don’t see gains for months, years even, that doesn’t mean you approach PE in a completely shotgun manner. The advice is clear, the newbie routine for 2-3 months AT LEAST, if you have read this and not taken this in, how the hell can we expect you to take in the complexities of hanging?

On hanging, 20lbs is what about 9kg? I’ve only built-up to this weight on weightlifting dumbbells over 2-3 months, yet you are hanging it off your dick after a few weeks? Total madness, 20lbs will be at the upper end of what many experienced hangers do over months/years. Hanging totally isn’t about maximum weight, it is about angle and traction of ligaments and the controlled manner in which you work a routine.

You won’t or are not getting what you should from PE because of your foolish approach. Unless you change this, you may as well leave, because the alternative is your going to need medical help repairing your penis.

Sorry for being so harsh, but when someone breaks every rule in the book and risks serious injury (if not already done) these things have to be said.

My personal view is this poster isn’t mature enough for PE.

I’ll state my golden rules. Allow 12 months for PE. Start slowly, newbie routine for 2-3 months minimum. Read all you can and ensure you know what you are doing and why you are doing it. If anyone cannot follow these simple principles, they should forget PE, or they will end-up doing more damage than good.

Did you read my replies to tps and ThunderSS or just reply to the initial post?

Hi emanonami,

I heard the pop sound one other time when doing stretches using my hands. I was stretching straight down towards the floor while standing and then it popped just like with the 20 lbs. Seems like the same exact sound. The things I read in a search about it had the ones that caused pain to lead to injury, but others just heard the sound without injury, like me.

Hi firegoat,

HugeWang69 writes "When your growing hurts that means it’s working." in BTC Stretching Vs Manual Stretches just below a post by Ruz_. I read it another time or two more explicitly by others but it’s hard to find without reading all the threads again. Maybe I interpreted wrong, but then it should be written differently. "Write not to be understood, but to not be misunderstood." as written by someone famous. :)

Morning CH, nice to see you’re reading so much. :) I wanted to post a direct link to the Physiologic Indicator thread I mentioned in sparkyx’s signature. This is a better guide for feeling pain and what to look for while PEing. Hint, #1 negative indicator is pain.

Physiologic Indicators (PIs) to help growth!

Hi tps,

Thanks. I read the PI thread when you mentioned it before in the persons signature. I read all three he had linked. I’m going to look for such things.

Actually, what is strange is that I’ve not had any changes besides a longer and thicker flaccid state. On two occasions my penis felt sensitive on days following a jelqing session. The erect state seems harder. Include the pop sound twice, and that is all that has changed. So no bad signs at least. As I wrote before, I probably have extra dense connective tissues in my body so can expect my progress to be different than most others. I’m trying the heating tonight. Not a lamp, but an IR heater that I can sit next too, and also use regular heated wash cloth. Hopefully that will heat up the tissues even more and make them more malleable.

Why would you do that man? After a month of P.E. You should never attempt something so harmful. Have patience man. After over three weeks of the Newbie routine, I’m not even sure if I have gained, but I know my penis is healthier, and I know some kind of change is happening. This is a marathon not a sprint.

I think celestialhammer gets it at this point guys, let’s stop hammering him.

A longer thicker flaccid and harder erections are indicators that the newbie routine is beginning to work. Not everyone gets gains right away, as you are discovering - doesn’t mean nothing’s happening.

Read the PI thread (search Physiological Indicators) while you’re reading. It’s a good thread and has a good concept at its center that you should start to incorporate into your thinking.

Nice pun!

And thanks! :)

P.S I’m going to try 40 lbs tonight!! ;)

Celestial, you need to order a bib hanger and slap 20 pounds on that bad boy.

Very funny, painekillah.

It was a play on words, but not a pun, hammer.

I did PE last night after taking a 2 day break. The snap happened again! This time when I was stretching downwards, flaccid, using my hands. The snap sound felt like it came from the left side of the pelvic bone-shaft connection. No pain, just like the other 2 times. So, I don’t think the 20 lbs had anything to do with the snap at all. Since it has happened twice now with just hand force. Fully warmed up too, so I did it correctly.

Thought to update. I guess 20 lbs hanging is okay and just feels heavy. I was surprised that I could hang so much. How high to people go? 50 lbs? I’d have to hang 5 plates for that. :)

Cheers
